    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Locke:</div><div class="quote_post">17-17 is still impossible?

Only good thing I can see out of this game is the fact that David Wesley looks to have turned the corner. 14, 9 and 6, on 5-8 shooting and 2-2 from three. Meanwhile, Derek Anderson shoots 0-7 and becomes a non-factor. Bold decision by JVG in starting DW and it seems as if he was right.</div>

    Yes.

Your an [exploitive deleted] for bringing it up though. No one knew T-Mac would be injured. The road trip is over, and we will finally get our easy wins and some confidence.

3-6 we are all the way at the bottom of the WC...shiz.

Props to Yao, but what really pisses me off about Yao's situation is if he posts up, he gets called for the foul, if he hooks it and doesn't post (to avoid getting the foul called) he gets called SOFT.

Any one who thinks nothing of Yao is a....

Yao was off balance the entire game. I didn't see if Wallace was fouling him and the refs weren't calling it, but Yao definetely committed a bunch of offensive fouls. It's so obvious when he lowers his shoulder and rams into the defensive player. He should just turn and fire his jump hook and not jump into his defender. And how about some pump fakes?

I'd like to see Van Gundy just go with our guards from last year and Luther Head, and bring Alston and Anderson off the bench. We just need a different look.

i have to admit i thought anderson would be better than wesley... i regret... wesley can shoot now and anderson is still worse... luther seems to get less turnovers which is a good sign and stromile looks like he is READY AND NOT LOST.... howard is impressive with those offensive borads but we need him to pass more to yao like he did last year... mutombo needs to practice his shot. everytime he shoots he miss.. he can't get his jump hook in.. he does great on rebounds and blocks its jsut his shot... i hope rafer is alright.. if we need a 3rd scoring option it would be wesley right now.. barry is alright but hopefully he can shoot some more 3s cause he can shoot them...
    my starting lineup is

    RAFER ALSTON / LUTHER
    WESLEY / BARRY OR ANDERSON
    T-MAC / BARRY
    JUAN HOWARD / STROMILE
    YAO MING / MUTOMBO

i miss LB... he brought energetic to the team.. too bad he is in the inactive list

ITs the same thing game after game. Everybody thinks that Yao can do no wrong and never commits a foul, or always gets fouled. Honestly, do you think EVERY ref in the NBA is against him?! It doesn't matter if Yao was turning to shoot and he elbowed Wallac, its STILL A FOUL. They will call that on Shaq or anyone, so don't always rush to think that Yao's some perfect player who can never commit a foul.

We're not trying to say Yao is perfect and never commits fouls, because a lot of times he picks up stupid fouls....but at the same time the refs call a lot of BS on him also......it's like one poster said, if he trys to be aggresive and block a shot, he gets called for a foul....and if he just stands there with his hands straight up, not doing anything, he still gets called for a foul.

Here's what I saw in this game, I saw the Rocket guards not understand how to get the ball inside to Yao. He would score down the court, and then wouldn't see the ball for the next 4 possessions. Ben Wallace is an all world defender, but Yao was rocking him on the inside when the Rockets fed him the ball properly. I kept seeing the pass being lobbed inside to him, allowing the weakside help to come, or a pass would be off target and Yao would have to give up the position he established. When you have Yao pinning Wallace under the basket, all he needs is a pass to the chest so he can spin, and flush it. Derek Anderson is a sorry excuse for an NBA player. He has no sense of how to play basketball and help his team win games. JVG needs to bench him in favor of Luther Head, who actually has a clue about winning.

Another player who was frustrating to watch was Carlos Arroyo. He dribbles and dribbles and dribbles, then takes an off balanced jumpshot. He's another bonehead player who doesn't understand the 'team' concept. He almost cost Detroit this game.

Other than that, I think the Rockets will get it together in the second half of the season. These new players have to learn and specialize in their roles. Derek Anderson needs to realize he's not here to score 20 points a game, he's not even here to score 10 points a game. He's on the team to play defense and pass the ball to Yao or T-Mac. Yao needs to option A and option C on this team, while T-Mac is option B and D.

With T-Mac struggling with a back injury, the Rockets look vulnerable and better not fall too, far behind from the rest of the West. A lot of the players they brought in have had a history of speaking out when their team is losing.
