wait a second.. theres something i dont get here. seattle has the 3rd seed but their record is 52-28 yet dallas has a record of 56-24 shouldnt seattle have the 4th seed? or is it that they only allow one team from each division to be in teh top 3 or 4?

yeah, top 3 is for each division's leader, that's why also in the east, boston take the 3rd place eventhough their record is worse than the bulls

Great win by the Rockets. Right now the chances for the sixth seed is less than 50% as JVG told his players to play out their best and not to manipulate the standings. A sixth seed chance would mean two wins by Sacramento in their last two games and a loss by the Rockets to either the Clippers or Sonics. We might have a chance to lose on the Sonics this coming wednesday so do the Kings when they take the Suns. If Phoenix wins today for their 62nd they will grab the Conference title as well as the homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs especially against the Spur. With the Suns 62nd win they might rest their players or play with less intensity against the Kings in their final game. Anyway the Rockets are playing with intensity right now. They should gain enough momentum and confidence as the playoff starts.

Like Van Gundy said manipulating games might haunt you just like what the Hornets did in season 97 wherein they purposedly lose their last 3 games in order to face the Knicks whom they had a 3-1 advantage in the regular season. The only time the Knicks won against the Hornets was in the last games of the regular season wherein the Hornets rest their key players. Come playoff time JVG's Knicks swept the Hornets 3-0 in the first round.
