<div class="quote_poster">Quoting K Bomber:</div><div class="quote_post">So what you are saying is it was pretty much just like old times I hate to tell you, but right now, we are viewing Vince in the same way that the rest of the world used to see him when he played in Toronto, through highlight reels. You cannot guage VC's game through the nightly round-up on TSN. For anyone who didn't see the game last night, you look up and see Vince with a 22 point effort, a couple of highlight plays and you think "Hey, pretty good game". What happens when you see that entire contest is that you witness VC spending the night playing half-assed defense while talking any manner of off-balance shots and avoiding any and all contact.</div>Trust me, I was well aware of Vince's tendencies while he was playing with the Raps, and watching him play in last night's game brought back many memories (and I'm not just talking about this season when he was dogging it). Actually I think everyone knew his weaknesses (avoiding contact, lazy defense, etc.)...... but the thing about last night was that I didn't expect him to play that way. I've seen a few games with VC playing for the Nets and this was not the same guy I was watching prior to last night. The game against the Pistons when he scored 41 points, I mean, the guy seemed almost unstoppable against one of the best defensive teams in the league. Last night was VC's first game against his former team and considering his recent rejuvenated game, I just expected much more from him..... that's all.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">That's just petty, I think that people that boo when Vince comes should just feel stupid, yet he left in a bad way, but to act like he's done nothing for the franchise is pretty stupid. Also Leo and Chuck were kinda dumb today, they focused more on nitpicking at everything Vince did than they did on the actual game. Leo said Vince in about every sentence he spat out the whole game, it was pretty dissapointing after a while, my brother was like okay Leo, we get the point, their's a game going on here that doesn't only involve Vince.</div> I usually despise booing. I think that it doesn't accomplish anything, and really brings you down to their level. However, because of the way that Vince acted as a professional, disrupting our chemistry and ruining our team, demanding a trade... I really felt that Vince had no honour, and considering the money he makes and his contractual obligation to the Raptors, that he really angered me. I have lost all respect for him, and if I get tickets to that game, I will boo with a passion for the first time! ( I've booed once or twice then taken credit for an opponent missing a free throw) When your star player is traded to another team, he is bound to be the topic of conversation. Especially when he left on such a bad note.
lol chungster you took my last sentence serious? I was obviously just kidding. Anyway, about this Vince and that Wince roundabouts, everyone's entitled to their own opinions. One can hate Wince or love Vince with countless reasons to go one way or the other. And og15 give Chuck and Leo a break will ya? They are only human like us you know, and they probably were biased in a way but that doesn't make them 'stupid'.
I think it's fine for us to boo him the first time he comes to Toronto, but if it continues down the long run that's just immature. Talk about holding a grudge! (No offense.)
