Never underestimate teams, this is what they can do to you. They have hustle, athleticism, and quickness, which is why the game was so close at 77-76. From what I saw of the box score, since I didn't watch the game, McGrady had a horrible shooting night after the Dallas game with Yao having a decent game. Hopefully, Yao's stats will be more consistent. But why in the world did they play Reece Gaines for 20 minutes? If you play him, why play him for so long? I understand that Jackson was out with the flu or something, but at least play Nachbar! However, we did a great job of limiting Korver's points and limiting Igoudala to 1 point. I don't know if its a show of defense, or just that they had a cold night, I dunno, I just looked at the box score. Hope this game tells the team to be alert at all times like the Atlanta game should have.
They won, but pathetically. The Rockets played horribly, but somehow won against another horrible team. Sura didnt have a good night again, and nor did McGrady. I feel Barrett should be starting, but I doubt thats gonna happen. Juwan Howard had 5 rebounds in the first quater, yet he still gets no time afterwards, other than the third. Maurice Taylor is garbage...really garbage. Padgett played well, Yao, and Mutombo.
I know. Why does JVG always bench Howard when he was getting boards and scoring. Taylor was trash today.
Barrett should not start, he does not nearly have enough experience that Sura does. Let Sura play some more games and he should be back in shape, I mean the man just came back from a month and a half injury, so just let him get his shooting touch back. As for the Juwan Howard and Maurice Taylor problem, I really think Howard should be getting more consistent minutes and starting over Taylor since Taylor's been playing like trash lately. Both are horrible on the defensive end, but Howard has something to prove right now, and plays with heart, making efforts to grab rebounds and making better shots.
i agree, howard should start and have mo backing him up and at point gaurd, it should be sura with barrett backing him up. I dont kno what gundy is doing, but i liked bowen, why doesnt he let weatherspoon play, he even let gaines play 20 min. Whats his problem. We need to work on our threes, 3 of 23 and 30% isnt gonna win u games. When is gundy gonna finalize a rotation, i think it is pretty much cleared up.
The reason why Gaines was playing so many minutes was because Boki was in street clothes...don't know why though. Is he injured or something? Anyway in the middle of the game we just SUCKED. My capitalized word explains it all...a little 4th quarter rally brought us back up and T-Mac hit a clutch shot also. At the last possesion I thought Jackson was going to score....Iverson set the play nicely and passed it to Jackson who was like 1 feet away from the rim. He MISSED the layup, got his own rebound and shot again and MISSED. The ball was then swatted to Kyle Korver at the 3. lol i was like oh sh** at that point...good thing he missed though. Fugly game but we got the win so im happy.
Padgett deserves to be ahead of Mo Taylor in lineup. He's been consistently better than Mo for the last week. He's a better rebounder, he hustles more, he doesn't get called for stupid fouls, and he spreads the defense with his 3-point shot. Howard has been decent the last few games, but I wish Spoon could have been given a chance at PF. And Sura, definitely, should start. His rebounding has been huge for us ever since he got back. And even when he doesn't grab the rebound, he does a good job keeping it alive and tipping it to teammates. I was impressed with Barret tonight, but he's best suited coming off the bench imo.
woohoo the rockets won I didn't see the game, but I was at a party last night tipsy and I saw the replay of the game and we were down by 9 in the 4th with 5 min. left.....thank God we were playing the sixers, so whats this I hear about Van Gundy playing weird lineups????

Bowen played feisty defense and hit a majority of his jumpers, which is all you can ask from him. In the 4th quarter, Van Gundy subbed in Mo Taylor for Scott Padgett, and he proceeded to miss two jumpers and committ the 5th team foul on the Sixers. By the time JVG regained his senses and pulled Mo from the game with 5 minutes left, we were down by 9.
Another thing I noticed is that Yao didn't get called for fouls which he's been getting throughout the season. Like when little guys ram into him, he'd usually get a foul called on him, but the refs let it go in this game. Maybe it was because we're at home. Or maybe refs are starting to realize that Yao isn't initiating that contact.
The last possesion in last night's game was just total bull****. There were like 4 un-called fouls that should have been made against the Rockets. Oh well, one win for the Rockets and they still look horrible for a team with all that talent.
Oh dont cry, the Sixers are horrible too, we shot 30% from the field and you still couldnt win, thats a bad team.
Neither the Rockets nor the 76ers are horrible, the Hawks are horrible. But seriously both teams are just simply struggling as of right now, and like the 76ers I expect the Rockets to blossom later on as well. As for the game, the 76ers easily had it won. They just failed to execute properly on defense late in the game, and they just basically fell apart. And I agree with Need4Sheed, there was indeed some uncalled fouls, but nonetheless, the 76ers had great looks and failed to knock down their shots and that's just what comes with the territory. But I was happy with the 76ers effort nonetheless, I surprised it came down to the wire they way it did. But what I'm most disappointed about is that the NBA most current clutch player Allen Iverson didn't even get the ball at the last possession. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Good preview. And you are very right about Yao Ming; he will have a monster game tonight as well as Tracy McGrady. Against this undersized and lackadaisical 76ers defense, any given player can easily drop 30+ Points on Philly. I say Ming will have somewhere around 25 Points and 13 Rebounds, and Tracy McGrady on the other hand will go for 30+. However, even though they may have a monster games, I think this game will be a close one throughout, but the Rockets will end up taking this one through a 4th quarter rally.</div> Did I call or it what?!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KleinBaller08:</div><div class="quote_post">Oh dont cry, the Sixers are horrible too, we shot 30% from the field and you still couldnt win, thats a bad team.</div> I never said we aren't horrible.
