What Jason Willliams? He's a great point guard who knows how to pass the ball and can score at the same time. We could trade Bob Sura and Juwan Howard for him. That would add to the depth at the Grizzlies front court rotation, as well as giving them a nice point guard. We would of course be getting a great point guard in return, something we need direly. However, I really want some kind of trade with Eric Snow going down with our team. Its a huge long shot, but theres been some problems with him and the coach. Any thoughts on this?
^^ I second that with eric snow. We need a producing pg right now to help the load on shooting and i think snow will fit fine into jvg system.
Eric Snow doesn't seem like a huge upgrade over our current point guards, to be honest. I don't see the attraction.
Houston trades: PG Tyronn Lue (6.2 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.9 apg in 22.9 minutes) PF Juwan Howard (7.4 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 0.8 apg in 21.1 minutes) PF Maurice Taylor (7.4 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.6 apg in 25.1 minutes) Houston receives: PG Antonio Daniels (12.2 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.4 apg in 27.6 minutes) PF Vladimir Radmanovic (11.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 1.5 apg in 29.2 minutes) C Jerome James (3.9 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 15.7 minutes) PF Donyell Marshall (10.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.3 minutes) Change in team outlook: +17.7 ppg, +4.0 rpg, and +2.0 apg. Seattle trades: PG Antonio Daniels (12.2 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.4 apg in 27.6 minutes) PF Vladimir Radmanovic (11.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 1.5 apg in 29.2 minutes) C Jerome James (3.9 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 15.7 minutes) Seattle receives: PG Tyronn Lue (6.2 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.9 apg in 22.9 minutes) PF Maurice Taylor (7.4 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.6 apg in 25.1 minutes) Change in team outlook: -14.4 ppg, -2.3 rpg, and -1.7 apg. Toronto trades: PF Donyell Marshall (10.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.3 minutes) Toronto receives: PF Juwan Howard (7.4 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 0.8 apg in 21.1 minutes) Change in team outlook: -3.3 ppg, -1.7 rpg, and -0.3 apg. Why we do it: Get some scoring and rebounding, we can move Vlad to the 3, where he wants to play, and Marshall to the 4. We get rid of two contracts, and it opens up the outside scoring a little. Seattle: They do this to get a bigger body at the power forward, as well as one who can take the scoring load a little. A point guard who can be a back-up to Ridnour/Murray. Toronto: They get a player who can help the rebuilding effort there, as well as be a back-up to Bosh. This is heavily in our favor, and I don't see it happening, but some of the minor deals may, and it sparks good discussion.
Another one: Houston trades: PF Maurice Taylor (7.4 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.6 apg in 25.1 minutes) SF Jimmy Jackson (12.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 3.5 apg in 40.9 minutes) Houston receives: PF Tyson Chandler (8.9 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 1.0 apg in 27.3 minutes) SF Andres Nocioni (9.1 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.5 apg in 22.8 minutes) PF Nikoloz Tskitishvili (1.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 0.2 apg in 9.2 minutes) Change in team outlook: +12.3 ppg, +11.5 rpg, and +1.1 apg. Chicago trades: PF Tyson Chandler (8.9 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 1.0 apg in 27.3 minutes) SF Andres Nocioni (9.1 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 1.5 apg in 22.8 minutes) Chicago receives: PF Maurice Taylor (7.4 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.6 apg in 25.1 minutes) Change in team outlook: -10.6 ppg, -9.8 rpg, and -0.9 apg. Denver trades: PF Nikoloz Tskitishvili (1.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 0.2 apg in 9.2 minutes) Denver receives: Jimmy Jackson (12.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 3.5 apg in 40.9 minutes) Change in team outlook: 11.2 ppg, 3.2 rpg, and 3.3 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED It helps us with Rebounding and defense, as well as a back-up PF/C, and someone to take JJ's place. Helps Denver find the SG/SF they were looking for, JJ can play SG, and 13 points is what they need from him. Chicago does this to help the guards develop, as well as get an offensive threat in Mo, also allowing them to start Deng, Gordon, and Hinrich. This is more likely than the other, but I don't see it happening, but Chandler, I think, we'll be moved to another team.
seattle will not make that trade....the day they make that trade is the day the world comes to an end
Seattle's starting center is Jerome James, and from his stats, you can see how weak they are at that position. If they trade James and get no real five in return, they'll basically be doing themselves in. And besides, right now Seattle is doing fantastically, and I don't think they'd want to fix what isn't broken.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting chineseafro:</div><div class="quote_post">lets say that dajuan wagner gets healthy, do you think hes worth trading for?</div> High turnover, low percentage, low assists numbers and undersized shooting guard. I'd say we're better off without him.
didnt they compare him to francis his rookie year? had the ability to drive to the basket, hit the three, and put up a lot of points. defensively i think he might be a liability
FACE IT GUYS.. we will not be able to fix this team until we unload some of the big contracts at PF problem is.. NO ONE IN THE LEAGUE WANTS OUR PF's.. not at the price they're getting paid! Mo Taylor - $28 million left for 3 years Probably not a starter unless the team really sucks.. doesn't rebound well or defend well but can score (except this year... his shooting has been terrible) Juwan Howard - about $30 million left for 5 years Has proved he can put up big numbers on a bad team (Orlando) but has never really been a big part of a winning team. Like Mo Taylor, another softie. Clarence Weatherspoon - $12 million left for 2 years Big, strong, and SLOW. Very limited offensively. He's no longer "Baby Barkley". Solution? No idea.. CD picked up a bunch of unmovable contracts, he should have just held onto Kelvin Cato who at least can defend at the 4 and has some trade value for teams needing a C.
are any of you members of the clutchfans.net forums? i've been trying to get an account for a long time to no avail, looks like some interesting talk going down in there.
Here's a long one: Houston trades: SG David Wesley (13.2 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 4.3 apg in 35.7 minutes) PF Juwan Howard (8.1 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.2 apg in 22.3 minutes) PF Maurice Taylor (7.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 24.2 minutes) SG Bob Sura (8.2 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 4.3 apg in 32.4 minutes) PG Reece Gaines (2.9 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.3 apg in 11.9 minutes) Houston receives: PG Sam Cassell (15.3 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 6.0 apg in 29.7 minutes) PF Aaron Williams (1.6 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 7.2 minutes) PF Donyell Marshall (10.3 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.2 apg in 24.7 minutes) C Alonzo Mourning (10.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 25.4 minutes) Change in team outlook: -2.6 ppg, -1.5 rpg, and -3.3 apg. New York trades: C Kurt Thomas (11.3 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 1.8 apg in 36.1 minutes) PG Moochie Norris (2.1 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 10.3 minutes) New York receives: SF Wally Szczerbiak (15.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.1 apg in 32.8 minutes) Change in team outlook: +2.2 ppg, -7.7 rpg, and -0.8 apg. Minnesota trades: PG Sam Cassell (15.3 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 6.0 apg in 29.7 minutes) SF Wally Szczerbiak (15.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.1 apg in 32.8 minutes) Minnesota receives: SG David Wesley (13.2 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 4.3 apg in 35.7 minutes) SG Bob Sura (8.2 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 4.3 apg in 32.4 minutes) C Kurt Thomas (11.3 ppg, 10.1 rpg, 1.8 apg in 36.1 minutes) PG Moochie Norris (2.1 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 10.3 minutes) SF Eric Williams (11.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.0 apg in 32.0 minutes) Change in team outlook: +15.2 ppg, +18.3 rpg, and +5.4 apg. Toronto trades: SF Eric Williams (11.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.0 apg in 32.0 minutes) PF Aaron Williams (1.6 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.3 apg in 7.2 minutes) PF Donyell Marshall (10.3 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.2 apg in 24.7 minutes) C Alonzo Mourning (10.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 25.4 minutes) Toronto receives: PF Juwan Howard (8.1 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.2 apg in 22.3 minutes) PF Maurice Taylor (7.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 24.2 minutes) PG Reece Gaines (2.9 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.3 apg in 11.9 minutes) Change in team outlook: -14.8 ppg, -9.1 rpg, and -1.3 apg. Try checking this and it would be denied -- because of contracts, but there's a way to work around that. You would say that all teams except Toronto might agree to this. But, Toronto is obviously rebuilding. We take an ugly contract in Marshall's, and we would throw in our First Round pick. Minnesota is messing all this up, because of their cap situation, but if we can package the TE, it would put Minnesota in the position to get some more players. This deal is huge, and would only happen if we gave up our TE and Draft Pick.. We might not want to do that.
One why would we trade David Wesley when we just got him. Two why would we want odl Sam Cassel and Alonzo Mourning. Third why would we want sorry Aaron williams the only thing positive about that trade is Donyell Marshall. This trade would never happen and shouldnt

It happened, us and Toronto are just getting rid of contracts. 2. "Old" Sam Cassel and "Old" Alonzo Mourning are doing better than all our PFs and PGs. Mourning has better numbers than Marshall. 3. Aaron Williams' contract is shorter and better than Howards, he's just a cap filler. This trade would never happen, but a roster like this is scary. C - Yao PF - Mourning SF - Marshall SG - McGrady PG - Cassel Marshall plays SF a lot in Toronto. Cassel, though hurt, still performs better (Assist wise and Point wise) than our Point Guards -- combined (excluding Barry). We would get two better contracts, while giving up two under-achieving players. But, what you said is your opinion, and you're entitled to it.
As much as I'd like to have this trade happen, it won't happen because it is seriously tilted in the Rockets' favor, and the Raptors would not give up Eric Williams, who is playing excellent since being traded, nor will they want to get two power forwards in Taylor and Howard; Bosh is their future at that position.
With Arroyo traded to Detroit for Campbell and 2 draft picks, I hear that Campbell will be waived, could we pick him up some way somehow?
I think he would be quite a good acquisition. I was quite sad that we didn't try and go for Arroyo. He would've a great fit but I'm really not sure who we could have traded him for. We really don't have good baits for Utah to bite on.
