Bill Simmons recently said he thinks that Philly would pretty much throw everything they have at us to pick up both guys. That's expirings (Morris Sr., Batum, Covington and Kormaz all of whom we'd likely buyout) three FRPs (the least favorable between OKC, Houston and the Clippers in 2026, the Clippers unprotected in 2028, and the Sixers unprotected with the option to swap with the Clippers in 2029) and three swaps (Sixers 2026, 2028 and 2030).

That's likely a very late first in 2026, an unprotected 2028 first which like you said who knows where that would be so it's as valuable as any unprotected future first and the same can be said for the first in 2029 which would be unprotected and the higher pick between the Clippers and Sixers. The swaps get a little complicated because of what we owe the Bulls but potentially we at least get the most favorable pick between us, Philly and Milwaukee in 2030 and would definitely have swap rights at least in one other draft and if it's 2028 it would be the most favorable between the same three teams again.

I imagine there might be better deals out there that would be more exciting to me but I would love it if Philly put something like this on the table because that's a pretty strong offer to have in your back pocket when negotiating with other teams.

I hope so, sometimes I’m skeptical.

Weren’t you the one who scoffed at me saying Grant could bring us value just a few weeks ago? My bad if you aren’t though.

Yup, I think that the idea that Philly would give up 3 1sts for those two guys will at least make an offer competitive. If anything, it drives up the price. It already seems like we are in disagreement about what we want anyway. I literally saw someone say Jarace Walker is the next iteration of Melo, DA, Kuminga on this forum.

I see Walker as a more skilled version of Draymond.

Don’t remember who said it, but they were basically saying he is the next darling who is a flawed player that Blazers fans just seem head over heels about.

Not me, I think Grant is exactly the time of "3 and D" wing that teams covet.

If we traded Grant alone for that I'd be really disappointed. It's basically Grant for two late firsts.

I'm just not in any hurry at all to see Grant be traded. Brogdon is the logical one.

I honestly think he's the best PF we've had since Aldridge

He is. By far. I get that he isn't part of our current window, but having someone like him really makes life easier for Simons and Scoot.

Sure you trade him for a top young PF, (i.e. Jarace Walker) but that seems like a long shot. We are better off drafting one this year and developing him behind Grant.

Grant's contract really isn't even that bad. His per year value is 47th in the league. Tatum and Booker are due for massive contract extensions.

I don’t know. Scoot has shown really good chemistry with Jabari. I don’t think he’d miss Grant.

Jabari is not a reliable shooter. Grant opens up the paint with his shooting.

You keep saying that. Never have I disagreed with you. You just keep replying to one of my posts saying the same thing.

Like, cool dude. LMAO. If I forget, I’ll remember to ask you how highly you think of him :)

Be nice if we had a Center who would do something with that space...

Grant is actually better than the version of LA we had the last few years he was here, the (turn around fade away LA). If the dude could just rebound he'd be an all-star.

    he's definitely the best forward.

Considering his rebound rates, calling him a power forward just seems wrong. Maurice Lucas has several seasons when he averaged 10+ rebounds. Buck Williams finished his career averaging 10 rebounds and if you subtract his last 3 seasons when he was over 35, he averaged 11 rebounds. Aldridge average 11 rebounds one season and 10 the next. Over 9 straight seasons, Karl Malone averaged 11 rebounds. And all of those guys had enough power to defend C's and defend them well. Josh Hart is more of a PF than Grant
