This has nothing to do with karma. It's misjudging the fact that OKC is a better matchup for us than most people assumed. They have two guys who can score and they don't shoot well. They also don't have the kind of rim protection that UTA does. We're underdogs in pretty much every WC matchup with Nurk out, but the one against OKC isn't as bad as our 0-4 regular season record indicated.
All good. I do. As Platy pointed out. Their game plan was as I thought. To go right at him. However I was wrong in Kanter not being able to handle it. He handled it just fine.
Adams did anything he wanted 10 feet and in. Enes did not play good D but the rebound count was astronomical. Solid performance.
Yep. And I would like to add, if they know our biggest deficiency and couldn't take advantage of it when trying, OKC is in trouble.
GM2 FT Kanter 20 MINS, 6 PTS, 5 REBS, 2 TO, +12 Adams 30 MINS, 16 PTS, 9 REBS, 2 TO, -22 Adams takes game two, but it doesn't matter!
GM 3 FT Kanter 19 PTS, 5 REB, 5 FLS Adams 10 PTS, 7 REB, 2 AST Kanter takes game three, but it doesn't matter...
Kanter played excellent defense. OKC stuck Adams on the bench because Blazers were taking advantage of him in the PnR, but Kanter stayed on the floor. Oh how ironic.
This Thunder fan does a fantastic post on this subject, and includes a really good video. Even if you are not into this topic, I encourage you to watch the video to just hear the utter despair in the guy's voice. It's pretty funny. TBH, I think the real revelation has been Zach Collins. He just looks so much better out there on the defensive end than Kanter. I'm hoping the big adjustments we make in the next game are to (obviously) eliminate Evan Turner's minutes and give Zach some more run at the 5.
Well , I officially stand corrected and welcome my Crow. Kanter has held his own and looks better than Adams and has not been a liability for us. I was wrong.
The guy really ought to take a closer look at the video before offering his opinion that Kanter should have been called for defensive three seconds. The clock is at 6:53 when the ball crosses half court and George makes a drive and is within arm's length of Kanter at 6:51.
