I'll try to dig the article up. Shane's also having some surgery this summer. I'm not sure he fits Adelman's system.</div>

You know what, now that you mention it...Battier did seem completely out of place in that offense. His defense was great for that team, but his offense...meh. I think he averaged almost a career low in points, too.

Personally, I'm not sold on Artest unless we can get him for relatively cheap. He seems to be too much of a timebomb just waiting to explode - you just don't know when. My other issue with him is his ego. I'm not sure if he and Kobe would be able to coexist on one team.

Artest idolizes Kobe and they have a long history of being friends off the court. I don't think it would be an issue, and I don't think the Lakers would pursue him unless they made it clear what his role on the team is going to be.

Artest is unpredictable, but I think this team needs some unpredictability to win a ring. He instantly gives us an intimidating presence on the court and will stick up for his teammates.

I agree about not overpaying for him, but we need some toughness on this team and Artest fills that void immediately.

See, I'm not saying to not go for him, but it just has to be under the right circumstances. I don't want to overpay for him and I don't want him ruining the chemistry of this team. Just cause he gets along with Kobe doesn't mean he'd get along with Gasol or Bynum.

Winning cures a lot of problems on a team and with the addition of Artest the Lakers would be winning plenty.

He has a reckless style of play, and I see him as an injury ready to happen (sort of like Trevor Ariza). Concussions are no joke either, a couple more hits to the head and may have to call it a career. Given our medical staff's track record, I wouldn't trust them at all with these head injuries</div>

It isn't a joke. But it's also not his fault. There was nothing reckless about those incidents. Both were accidents. Watch the clip.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>With the Lakers flaming out in the Finals, it didn't take long for speculation about Lamar Odom to begin. A number of teams covet Odom because of his expiring contract.

I'd expect the Lakers to hear from the Nets (for Richard Jefferson), the Bulls (for Andres Nocioni), the Kings (for Ron Artest) and Memphis (for Mike Miller).

The Lakers and Grizzlies, as you might remember, have a history.</div>

Miller would be nice and Nocioni plays hard defense and at times is a dirty player.

    Uh...

Apparently Ron Artest was on Loose Cannons today (radio show) and had many favorable things to say about the Lakers. So yeah, we'll see what happens. I don't feel like summarizing the interview, but they have a big thread about it on LG for anybody interested

I wouldn't get my hopes up though, this type of stuff always happens in the offseason. I doubt we get Artest when it's all said and done, but like KG said, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEZZZZZZ!!!!!!

I don't think Artest swings that way if you know what I mean.

    WWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT?

Mike Miller+Crittenton+ S&T LLE Kwame Brown for Lamar Odom+Jordan Farmar

    C'MON MITCH! DO IT!

Yeah right. After that Pau Gasol trade, I DOUBT we ever gonna deal w/ Memphis for a LONG time.
I'm still not sold on Artest fully either. I LOVE his game, but I think I like LO's better.
I'm still hoping we get Varejao w/o giving away a big. Perhaps for Vlad Rad? Help spread the floor for LeBron......
If we get Shane Battier, I'd seriously streak across town yelling in excitement. BUT I think Odom is too much to give up for him.
    Vlad Rad+Luke Walton+2nd rd. pick+cash considerations for Shane Battier+Bobby Jackson ????
Maybe trade for Iggi in Philly? LO+Farmar for Iguodala and Andre Miller...............Farmar is a starting PG in this league, especially in the East, and LO would work WONDERS next to Thaddeus Young in the East. Iguodala doesn't have to score AS MUCH for us in LA, but has to focus on defense. Plus, he's very young. Andre Miller probably would play backup to Fisher, but they could split the time.
