So out of this draft, we got 4.5 million and two 2011 second round picks, along with a training camp body.

    Nice.

    4.5 MILLION

    $3 Million for Shannon. Done.

$1.5 million/$6 million for Ariza. Get it done.

    $8-9 million for Odom

lol Shannon's not getting 3 mill

    most likely 1.5

Trev's contract is pretty much taken care of for the most part.

You don't think some team will offer Shannon 3 mil? Especially when Sasha got about 5?

I think you're low balling him. I may be high balling, but I think he'll sign somewhere else for more than 1.5

Who's gonna sign him for 3 million? Sasha got the 5 million dollar deal because he was a completely different player his contract year. Shannon only looked good in spurts and barely played in the postseason. He also never amounted to much in Cleveland, Chicago, or Charlotte. I highly doubt he gets a 3 million dollar offer from anybody, especially with the economy the way it is. If someone gives out that offer, it'll most likely be for a more proven PG, or at least IMO. I just don't see it.

We'll see what happens though. I just want all three back.

Amazing we got that much cash, now I don't want to hear any excuses about contract demands.

Shannon proved to be a spark player who can penetrate in the post and play some decent defense. He's also capable of playing the #2.

Just like Ariza, he is a momentum swinger. The Lakers want to hold on to him and I think they're going to have to pony up at least $2.0-2.5 million/year for him.

yes mamba is right, shannon is a spark plug who was incredibly valuable down the stretch in the playoffs, i think in total he had maybe 3 or 4 dunks in transition, and a few steals, that changed the momentum of the game completely. i think if we have to re-sign him for 3mil (which i beleive is the absolute max he would be offered) then i think we have to in this case. even if his role is small, we will lose what the celtics lost in posey or, i dunno, same if orlando somehow lost peitrius, they wouldnt have made it without his energy off the bench. same in this case with shannon. plus i think he deserves 2 mil, maybe a bit more.

Lakers were draft day winners collecting $7M which they can use to pay a portion of luxury tax fees for re-signing Odom & Ariza & Brown.

I think I'm with Lost. $3mil per year seems like overpaying for him. I don't think many teams are going to be looking at him, for one, and two, I can't imagine teams offering him that much. He didn't get much burn in the playoffs after the first round or so, and he's never been able to stay anywhere consistently, which could detract some teams as well. And the reason why Sasha got the contract he did is because he was effective in his contract year. He averaged a career high in essentially every statistical category.

Brown isn't nearly as valuable to us as Posey was to the Celtics. If he was, he'd have gotten a lot more PT. Posey was more than just a spark plug for them, he was also a reliable defender and a consistent shooter for them. As much as I like Shannon, his impact doesn't compare to Posey's or even Pietrus'. And I think $3mil is the absolute max we give him. If someone wants to blow their MLE on him or even $3.5-4 mil, let him walk.

3 yr 6million would be good for brown that would make him happy and the lakers happy

iIthink tevor would like a 6 to 8 million per year just saying

I hope odom accept 9 to 10 per year or 9.5 hoping

Last year Odom + Ariza combined for $17.4M in total salary. If they can agree to split that amount this year I think it's fair and beneficial to everyone. Works out to average $8.7M each.

I think 3 year $4.5M is fair market value for Shannon Brown. 1st Year $1M, 2nd Year $1.5M Final Year $2M
