I think Bo Outlaw and Malik Rose will give a solid frontcourt work ethic but they're probably too pricey and Bo isn't young.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting custodianrules2:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm suprised nobody mentioned Jumaine Jones. Is it because he's a free agent?</div> It's more because Brandon Hunter was also left unprotected by the Celtics, and his contract is something like 600,000
The most surprising unprotected player to me is Utah's Sasha Pavlovic. How could you give up on your first round pick from a year ago when he showed the potential to be a good player? If you don't like him, trade him, but don't give him away for nothing.
If the Bobcats do get 29 players max, Here are the playersd I would look at if I was them. Guards Keyon Dooling Juan Dixon Richie Farhm Dahntay Jones Small Forwards Gerald Wallace Qyntel Woods Jason Kapono Tamar Slay Power/Combo forwards Brandon Hunter Marcus Fizer Brian Skinner Britton Johnsen Center Loren Woods Cerazy Trybanski Marc Jackson(his contract makes him kind of iffy, But with the minutes he would get on the bobcats, he would probably produce the type of # he did with the Warriors 4 seasons ago & clearly be the best bigman in this exspansion draft.)
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">Brian Skinner is going to opt out of his contract before the expansion draft just so you know.</div> My bad I was thinking his player option was next year. The big man choices are extremely slim in this expansion draft. Its just a bunch of guards.
Yea I know, almost every played is a guard, that's why I think Brandon Hunter is a lock to be takes even though he's not really a "big" man. The other guys are guys like, Tyrabanski, Jahidi White, Brezec, Tsakalidis, and Loren Woods. Tskalaidis is out because of Bell and Jones being left by the Grizz, and Tyrabanski is garbage, but what's the harm in taking him. Vladimir Stephania isn't bad, but Qyntel Woods is available, and Marcus Fizer is good if they can get him after making him unrestricted.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting panfolk:</div><div class="quote_post">I think Bo Outlaw and Malik Rose will give a solid frontcourt work ethic but they're probably too pricey and Bo isn't young.</div> Now there's a prospect I admire, two workhorses. Thanks for that good suggestion, I think this could be useful for teams like the Sixers, Celtics and Magic. Effort, the will to win, size, strength, rebounding and defense.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> "We're not interested in guys who have three or four years left on their contracts," Bickerstaff said. "The guys we're looking at all have one year remaining ... But they're all very talented kids who need an opportunity." </div> Charlotte Obsrever - You Have to Register I know he's said it many times, but he seems to be emphasizing it more, the only way they'll likely take a big contract is if they're going to be trading the player.
The question is , who will they draft? obviously the best player Available but who would it be? not Livingston because they don't want a H.S. player..so I'm guessing Ben Gordon. Ben Gordon would be awesome to start , if they draft Ben Gordon I think these players are the best the Bobcats can get: PG/SG - Reece Gaines, Kerry Kittles , Eddie Jones, Aaron Mckie,Juan Dixon, Moochie Norris, Charlie Ward(Experience, real good for Ben Gordon and Reece Gaines.) SG/SF - Ira Newble, Antonie Walker, DeShawn Stevenson, Ruber Patterson, Qyentel Woods. PF/C - (They should take advantage of this one) - Brandon Hunter..(isn't he in a rookie contract? he is growing as a player I think he can be a 8ppg 6rpg back up PF.) , Antonio Davis(Experience), SCOT POLLARD(what's wrong? big contract?), Bo Outlaw(Experience), Lorenzen Wright, Brian Grant, ZaZa Pachulia, Derrick Coleman,MALIK ROSE(what's wrong? big contract? I'll take him if he makes less than 5mil a year ), Danny Fortson, Brian Skinner, Ervin Johnson, Jahidi White. I think they have a good chance at having a good record, I don't know who they want to draft but Ben Gordon will be a triple double threat just like Arenas. They should get a lot of PF/C (both young and experience) and draft SF's in the 2nd round or other picks or whatever, 1,2,4 and 5 are covered in my opinion 3 is the only problem.

Bo Outlaw - about 5.3 million for an older bench player, but it's only one year. Lorenzen - 7.1 million and 7.7 in 2005/2006 Brian Grant - 13.3 million and till 2006/2007, not happening. DC - 4.5 million and 5 million the next year, not young, not a small 1 year contract, and not tradeable Malik Rose - 5.4 million dollar contract, and it get's higher obviously and goes till 2007/2008 when its 7 million, and this is for a backup PF who can do the same thing as Brandon Hunter. Forston - 5.9 million dollar contract, player option for 6.4 million in 2005/2006, which he will take is he's smart because no one's going to pay him that much in the market, with the option it goes till 2006/2007. Brian Skinner - He's opting out before the expansion draft Ervin Johnson, one year contract 4.9 million, will bring veteran leadership and some experience to a young roster, possible, but not too likely.
The only reasons that Vitaly hasn't been playing well over the years of his career is that every team he has played for has had a few steller players, which puts him on the bench, which is why he has no chance of being a better player. Confidence goes a long way as well and from what I've seen over the years from him, he is too slouchy, he doesn't have any intensity. If someone in the back were to help him with these issues day by day he would be a good selection for the 'Cats or a great starting edition to a team needing defensive push. Until then, or if anyone bothers to try, no team really has much of a use for him except to finish up a game when they're up by 20 to 30 points. My opinion.
