I just found some GREAT new videos. NBA 2k8: Ultimate Fan Trailer #3 That's nice, but I also found actual game footage (full game, 4-minute quarters). First, here's a little excerpt from the guy who played this game (DJRhude):

QUOTE

I'm not going to even front, I took the Phoenix Suns lightly. Why you ask, would I take the highest rated team in the game with a grain of salt? Well that's due to the poor performance of past basketball video games when it came to depicting the NBA teams. They never really captured how the team played in real life. So yeah, I knew the Suns had Nash, Amare, Marion and company, but when I went into their arena with the Denver Nuggets I wasn't really expecting to see the real Nash. I was wrong. Dead wrong. In fact I was so wrong that the Phoenix Suns beat the brakes of my Melo led squad. On All Star (I'm a good 2K player, but even I knew I wasn't ready for Superstar yet). This Phoenix Suns squad played exactly like the real Suns. With Nash running the show, he was either picking me apart with precison passing, or draining the open shot. On the rare occassions I was able to stop Nash, Amare beasted down low. It was almost uncanny how life like Nash and the entire Suns team played. My only highlights, was a sick dunk by JR Smith in traffic (third quarter I think) and some sick moves by A.I. Other than that, it was total Suns domination. One thing I am loving about this game is you cannot play sloppy. All my reckless drives into the paint were sent back in my grill and all my careless passes were stolen. Enough talk though, watch the full 4 minute quarters game. Enjoy.

Without any further ado, let's get to the game videos, shall we? Denver @ Phoenix - 1st Quarter Denver @ Phoenix - 2nd Quarter (halftime included) Denver @ Phoenix - 3rd Quarter Denver @ Phoenix - 4th Quarter (Jordan Player of the Game included) Rhude wasn't lying about Phoenix. They really do play like their real counterparts, and they push the tempo. Nash... wow. Rhude was right, Nash's game/style is 100% spot on. The halftime show is short, but it looks 10x better. I also don't mind that it's short, without Kenny Smith's Stamp of Approval, because the postgame show is just incredible. As most of you probably know, you can toggle through each player's highlights at the end of the game, and pick what you want to see. It's not just 3 highlights of each player, either... it's everything. Shots they made, rebounds, pretty passes, you name it. There is also a Top 3 Plays of the Game. Just 7 days until 2k8 is in stores, and with all this new info, I don't know if I can last. It's probably best if I just stay away from the 2kSports forums, that way I don't think about it as much, but I've come to the conclusion that it's impossible for me to do so.

I really hope I can still embed flash video, these new non-youtube official 2k8 movies just surfaced: http://www.2ksports.com/itslikethat/
EDIT: ok whatever this isn't working, I really missed the media editor in addition to the image editor. Go to the website and watch the 5 episodes.

Initially, I was kinda torn between what NBA game I wanted this year. However, after reading that excerpt, it seems my questions have been answered. As good as I feel the Live demo was, this game SOUNDS incredible. Depending on how ratings fall, I am more than likely going to get this game this year.

Man this geam really does look great and with all the new association additions it should be the best version of the game yet.

In the new EGM, they gave a very, very brief review of the game (full review likely to come next month) and said that this is by far the best NBA game of the year. By the way, for those wondering, they also made note that the Slam Dunk Contest is much more intuitive than the NBA Live one. I honestly, can't wait for this game. It's just unfortunate that I'm not going to be playing a lot when it comes out cause of Halo 3 and Madden. Not to mention Guitar Hero 3 at months end. However, I'm getting it on Tuesday and will still likely play it it's fair share, simply cause it sounds amazing.

anyone know when IGN interviews will come out for 2k8 and Live 08?
they already have the reviews for the Playstation NBA 08 games. 8.4 for PSP (not bad), and 7.5 for PS3. looks like Live will have competition on the PSP, once again.

2k8, halo 3, and guitar hero 3. Those are probably going to be the three games I buy this year...its gonna be a good year :-D

No Rock Band? Anyways, IGN says they'll have their review out early this week, so I'm thinking either today or tomorrow.

I put reserved a copy of NBA 2k8 for myself yesterday, and I plan to pick it up first thing tomorrow morning. I can't wait! Luckily, I have a fantasy draft to told me over tonight, but man... I can't wait!

Don't forget to get Fifa 08 guys. Another great game.
I'm picking that one and 2k8 tomorrow morning.

yeah ps2 doesn't have any of the new features that the next-gen platforms have. It's pretty much a roster update with slightly better gameplay from what I read.

The guys at my EBgames are stupid! I put like $50 down on NBA 2K8 last week and got a call today that they have my reserved copy of the game so I could pick it up so when I had time today I dropped by and showed them my reciept and they said they're all sold out of the copies and accidently sold mine. Now I wasnt too angry with that becuase I still havnt got my 360 back from repairs yet but from my understanding if I reserve a copy before hand I should have it held for me at least 24 hours within getting the phone call that my copy has come in.

Actually, I think the developers underrated Golden State. Our overall team rating is 74, I would expect it to clock in anywhere from 78-81. As far as Dallas' rating dropping, that is weird. Hopefully Dallas will lose forty games this year and the game will be validated...?
It's been said a couple of times that the Warriors players are given inflated ratings, but I just got the game, and I don't see anybody rated any higher than makes sense. Ellis at 84 should probably be an 81 or 80, granted, but everyone else is around where I would rate them...
I got no beef with where the Cavs are. LeBron James may be a great player, but under no circumstances do I think that they have a great team.

The team ratings aren't really that telling. For instance the Mavs are ranked the same as the Nets I believe, and the Suns are at a 91 (most teams are in the 70's)

I might go buy 2K8 tommorow is the game good on the X-BOX 360.Fifa 08 I'll buy that guy because Ochoa is on the cover.
