Looking at the hf boards, a lot of ranger fans there think it's almost a given Klein is going to be traded for some cap relief. Interesting.

I really wish AV wasnt as married to the L-R pairings as he is...the right side will look ugly with no Klein

I would not trade Klein. I would tell Boyle to either drop his NMC or he's in the stands. No need for cap relief. Dallas wanted Glass last year. They are in on Talbot. You could easily send him to Dallas with Talbot.

The right side should be Girardi, Klein and McIlrath. Trade Yandle for the most possible and make the left side McDonagh, Staal and Skjei.

Absolutely and has the season to make it work by the time the playoffs roll around.

I'm on board with all of that, minus the Yandle part.

Mel and dump...yes let's go for the cup and play two rookie dmen who essentially have never played an NHL game...LOL. Only on this board...

Thank you for being the voice of reason Prod.

And deal Klein for cap savings...dude makes 2.9 mill as a top 4 dman...that would be asinine.

As for Boyle, I heard back a while ago the buyout would mean 1.5 on the books the next 3 seasons, but who the F knows. I have also heard cannot get any savings with a buyout. Clear as mud NHL...LOL.

Al...I don't blame AV for much, but the MSL PP thing was ridiculous. Don't ask what options AV had when MSL is on the 1st unit and Nash and Yandle are not...enough said...:).

Read that Nash and his NMC ends June 30th and turns into a limited NTC. I'm sure they will listen to offers and if something makes sense, they will do it. 10-11 teams on his limited no trade clause.

I think they will listen also. That is the smart and responsible thing to do. Not sure if anything gets done, actually a longshot it will IMO, but smart to talk and see what is out there for sure.

"The Sharks and Oilers are going to end up competing for some of the same names. For example, sources say both clubs have also shown interest in Cam Talbot of the New York Rangers. Talbot has another season at $1.45 million on his deal -- cheap, cheap, cheap for a guy who showed he could carry the load when Henrik Lundqvist was hurt this season. The Rangers may move Talbot to help alleviate some of their cap logjam. They would be seeking future assets for Talbot."

I dont think it's a given we'd just be seeking future assets for Talbot (which I read as picks). If there's truth to the Klein speculation, what do you think we can get back from the Sharks for a Talbot/Klein package? They have a few young guys over there like Karlsson, Wingels Nieto etc. Maybe Hagelin included as well?

As for Nash, if they truly are going to shop him (which I dont think they should do or will do), they have to at least inquire with Toronto. Babcock LOVES Nash, remember all the Olympic talk? If they get get rid of Kessel this offseason, that could be a landing spot for Nash. Maybe JVR coming back, that would help balance lost production. Just ideas.

Most likely phillipsburg which is one of the best cruise ports as everything is right there: the beach, the shopping and the restaurants so you don't have to waste time with taxis traveling.

I've stayed silent for a while now just reading these threads and I have just a few comments.
First, Yandle is NOT getting traded unless it's a deadline deal and we're out of it. With his cap hit it would be idiotic to trade him.
Second, I highly doubt Boyle or Nash are traded. Boyle because of his clauses and Nash because of money left in his contract.
Third, MSL is done here and I believe Hags is as well. AV needs more finishers and Hags is not that guy. He's good at what he does, but he's not what we need to be spending cap money on.
Fourth, Talbot is 100% traded in the offseason. It would be foolish not to trade him.
Fifth, this sucks that we're not playing anymore and are having the same silly discussions we've been having for 21 years now....what do we need to do to win the Cup.
