The reason Jake looks so bad at times is he takes too many quick 3s off screens. But when he is not trying to be the "go to" guy, he looks fine.
I guarantee if someone like Harkless (who is a hell of lot better than Jake) played in Summer league he would not impress either.

Summer league is a good time to take these guys out of their comfort zone and push their limits. Jake in the regular season would have a completely different roll than he does now. Same with Zach

Overall the Blazers play well. Baldwin really good game but miss to many FT. Swanigan had strong game but defense side need work. Collins was outstanding on D but the offensive wasn't there but that could be the mask and playing in front the home crowd. Trent was pretty solid at both ends love how he got to the free throw line. Simon didn't look like he was over whelmed out there did real good job.

lmao! all you guys whining about Collins is hilarious. It's as if some of you didn't watch him last year and then add the fact that he broke his nose a couple days ago and is now wearing a mask couldn't be a factor either, Too many roller coaster posters in this forum.

Well, of what I saw, Impressive! Set my alarm for 1:00 MST, but didn't set the day. Oh well, saw a third of game and was really impressed by both draftpicks, and Wade was a beast. Only downers were Collins, being dominated physically at center(didn't surprise me though, he's a PF), and his inability to get a "good" shot off at the center position against a bigger specimen. You'd think he could go around that big boy, but Haas held him in check. Zack will be fine, but not at the center position. Time to let that ship sail. Damn! the athleticism was off the charts for Baldwin, Trent Jr., and Simons.

...Baldwin shooting 20% (1-5) from the FT line is a bit troubling, but for a backup not that big of a deal :dunno:

It's not really whining, it's understanding that he's NOT A CENTER(me and some others already knew that) and that for those who think he was, they're upset at his performance. His highside, to me, will be turning into a LaMarcus Aldridge type player at PF.

Plus add in that this team was put together just a short time ago and have only had a few practices. It's not like anyone is a finished product in summer league.

Love Trends demeanor and the guy is really a smart physical player.
Props to the 7th best GM in the league!

You’re the one posting only a few posts earlier that he was “stinking up the joint.”

It's the first summer league game just a few days after the team was brought together and none of these guys have played with each other and Collins has a broken nose from a couple days ago and is now wearing a mask. Way too premature to be passing judgement.

Jake has "ALL" the tools to be a good player in the League. That's why the Blazers haven't given up on him. If that lightbulb turns on during the upcoming season, it will be well worth the patience the team has shown. He sure is an exciting player.
