Random coincidences/cb radio or......? Is this what Nicola Tesla dabbled with (sweeping frequencies) but quit because it freaked him out?
Nothing I don't know already. It's funny because so many people think psychedelics are just a way to get high. In fact, most serious trippers seek more than watching things warp and bend. My latest experiences involve smaller amounts of dosage and meditation. It's surprising how deep you can get inside your own mind, picking apart areas you didn't even know existed. With the right treatment, supervised by trained psychiatrists, Psychedelics can be an important tool for "REAL" cures for mental illness.
I've read that MDMA is on the forefront - an instant anti-depressant and is the holy grail to PTSD sufferers.
I think psychadelics serve as an important tool to show how our perceptions are restricted for a reason. This speaks towards the importance of the mind, and supports the thought that our mind is the key. Philosophers such as John Locke talk about sensation and qualities of objects, and that ideas are formed based on our perceptions of objects, but that the sensation is in our mind. For instance we have ideas of snowballs as these cold white balls of snow, the color white is in the object but the sensation of cold is in our mind based off our perception of the qualities of the object IE: white, round, soft. So why do we have snowballs? I personally think sensations and emotions are our true nature, and that the objects around us serve to tune that nature. You hear of people who have near death experiences, and report being in places of light, with warmth, even in cases of drownings in frigid water. This is because our experiences on earth are due to our limited perceptions, and the feeling of cold water comes from these ideas we have of the material objects around us. Why do you think kids have to learn that stoves are hot and the freezing pond is cold? Because we are not used to these sensations of hot and cold being linked to material objects, and thus have to learn what around us is hot and cold.
Yes and it's also used as schizophrenia treatment. I'm not a fan with MDMA... I definitely understand why it's used in clubs though. Music is great, you like being around peeps and you can satisfy yourself
Speaking of hippy bullshit, Yes's back catalog is getting remixed by prog legend Steven Wilson. (this is not the remix, but this is hippy bullshit)
Anyone tried taking calea zacatechichi? Edit: It is a plant native to Mexico and central America nicknamed the dream herb. It is supposed to make the users remember their dreams in greater detail. I've heard many reports of lucid dreaming while taking it, even from people who previously had no dream recollection. I've historically had some pretty clear dreams that I remember but none of them hold obvious significance, and most end up being trivial incidents of my subconscious. I've had a few lucid dreams in my lifetime, but it's never been something I control, every once in a while I will become aware that I am dreaming and be able to live in the dream and extend it.
There was some girl in my class raving about sensory deprecation tanks. I think I'd be like mags and would be driven crazy by the inability to remain still. Did you ever go try it out fez?
