Jabari Parker is what the league is heading towards, small ball 4 with range.

Of all those guys out there- the young and freakishly talented (with size) the only one I trade CJ for is Wiggins.

I know he didn't show up the other night, if you look a his box scores and his numbers that was an aberration. The kid is some seriously raw talent. With that said he's still scoring 20 a night, with a coach who has no business being in the NBA right now. Speaking of 20... the guy is only 5 months younger than Vonleh. That's just nuts. But there is zero chance the 'Wolves give him up.

When I watch Wiggins play he reminds me a lot of derozan. He obviously has room to grow as he is so young.

Yeah I see that too, which is my tiniest bit of hesitancy. The one thing that Wiggins already has in spades though is defense. He's already a top tier defender, not on Kawhi's level but he's approaching the conversation where mentioning his name in the All-Defensive team isn't all that inconceivable.

When you pair that with an attacking player who still has all the potential, that's where I can justify it in my head.

Minny doesn't need CJ because they have LaVine.

LaVine is more Barton-lite then CJ.

Dude has promise but you are putting the cart before the horse on this one.

if Lavine could knock down a J I would be more likely to agree but his jumper is...meh. Everywhere outside of 5 feet he shoots under 40%. If I'm Minny and I don't think he can develop a jumper- I package him up and ship him out before everyone realizes he's Rodney Stuckey.

If I'm them I'm offering Lavine and This year's 1st to Philly for Okafor. Okafor+Towns would be a match made in heaven.

Jesus-H... I didn't even think of that. That's not a huge stretch either- I think it would require one more tiny piece by Minny b/c the "potential" label on Okafor is still so high but Okafor-Town-Wiggins... that's.... that's just wow. I literally can't explain that.

    Well done.

Jabari Parker just screams tweener to me. How is he different from Carmelo Anthony (except not as good)? The Bucks were better last year without him and Greg Monroe. Their defense has been weakened by those two.

Only in NCAA ball. Okafor is not made for the NBA.

Sure, but LaVine + Wiggins > CJ + LaVine coming off the bench.

Okafor is 20 years old. As a rookie he's averaging: 17.3 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.1 bpg, 49.4 FG%, with a 16.8 PER. I'd certainly like to have a big like him on the Blazers.

With the trade deadline coming up on Feb 18th, here's a look at the teams that will be 'motivated' to make some cost cutting trades:

    Taxpayers.jpg

CLE, OKC, LAC, GSW, MIA, CHI, HOU, and SAS are all currently in the Luxury Tax area. The Miami Heat are hit a bit harder since they fall into the repeat offender rate.

Out of the luxury tax teams, Houston is probably the lowest performing team. How much will they look to cut? Are they still 'all in' to win this year?

Although BRK isn't in the luxury tax range, they're paying a lot of money for an under performing team.

The Blazers are in a prime situation to absorb a lot of salary, being $20,624,882 under the CAP. This should be fun over the next couple of weeks!

I wonder if the Lakers would want to deal Hibbert just so they don't have to pay as much of that 15 million dollar salary. Olshey targeted him once before, and this could be an audition for him. He seems to fit the style of defense Stotts wants to play.

Paul Allen probably feels like a pimp right now, being at the bottom of the NBA in team salary....

Good list. I don't see OKC doing any trade with us. Cleveland is in win now mode as are the Clipps and neither care about the tax. Miami is probably the team most likely we trade with but don't see what they have that we want. We're not getting Winslow. Maybe we get some second round picks. The other team is the Bulls, I'd see if they have interest in giving up McDermot for Hendo and Meyers plus we take on a bad contract of theirs.

I think we most likely stand pat, give the extra money under the minimum to our current players and point that out as a draw to free agents this summer.
