    Trade Deadline Primer

1: Players who were hot commodities 5+ years ago don't line up with Olshey's Plan
2: If all our players are so good they are untouchable... We would be a title contender

In other words I come in here and all I see is names that are yesterdays news being thrown around like they are going to be some great addition. Also I see a lot of "Hell no!" posted where it's pretty clear very little logical assessment has actually been applied to a suggestion, in other words if your only justification is Hell No! then you probably haven't actually thought about it enough to know why.

Probably a good thing that fans don't make personnel decisions

If they did, I would imagine TRob would be our starting PF and Crabbe would be with the Stampede....trust Olshey!

They get to for the All Star game though. And the NBA seems to think its great. Maybe they should just have us vote for which cities should have teams and the players who are on those teams.

Get the fans out of this all together. we are biased and irrrational. It is completely unfair to the top players in the league who get snubbed ( Dame) because of idiot fans across the nation. All Star nominations should be based on three things and three things only in this order:

    1) personal performance
    2) team performance
    3) attitude

So if a guy like Dame and a guy like Cousins have similar stats and the team has the same record, then who has more tech's? etc.

Fandom and popularity of personalities and style of play should be irrelevant to this. These nominations and appearances are a part of the tally when getting into the HOF. The league is killing it for some.

Is it OK to say Hell no to names that are yesterday's news?

    3. Our team philosophy is to collect high character, hard-working players, and shooters.

That's why I like Ryan Anderson, and not Shabust.

Exactly. People are talking about Harkless and Crabbe like they're untouchable.

Why do you hate on Crabbe? Nobody is saying hes a superstar or anything, but he's doing exactly what drafting in the 2nd round you hope players do. And thats turn out solid and become a nice role player. Last time I checked a team cant have every single player as a star, eventually you need a couple Crabbe like players to fill out a roster

It isn't that those guys are untouchable, it's that their value to other teams is probably lower than their value to us (in my guesstimation).

I've been a major crabbe supporter for a long long time. Love his game. The annoying thing is when people jump on top of you and act like you are killing their puppy when you suggest trading him. Crabbe looks good, but he isn't established into a dame or Cj, who should be the only untouchable players on our roster

    I don't hate on Crabbe.. I just don't think he's untouchable?

Why do you hate on Lillard? He's much better than Crabbe

Doesn't mean we shouldn't explore what their trade value actually is.

I think NO has been exploring our player's trade value since the minute he became our GM.

You realize that a players trade value changes? The trade value they had when he became doesn't matter.

You guys are probably both right.

However, I'm sure Houston doesn't get anything close to Plumlee for Howard from another team.

As for Sac, they need to do Something to either get younger or become relevant. Boogie is a terrible leader, and they current are in turmoil. We'll see if they do something better. I doubt it.
