uhhhh... NO. Lakers will NEVER trade Kobe, and certainly not for Ginobili and Parker. And Lamar Odom also? Thats just crazy-talk. BTW KOBE HAS A NO-TRADE CLAUSE! Nobody seems to understand that.

^ Lamar Odom is best suited as a SF and the Sonics already have Rashard Lewis. Seattle is already one of the worst defensive teams, imagine how much worse they would be by adding Odom and getting rid of Forston and Evans.

Well Seattle isn't in a position to negotiate because Evans, Radman, and Flip Murray are all unrestricted free agents. Danny Fortson has been a distraction and is only playing 10MPG. The team has already started their youth movement playing Collison and Petro a lot of minutes. Lamar Odom would fit a lot better in Seattle as their 3rd option, plus he gives them insurance incase Shard opts out of his current deal. Lamar Odom compliments Allen and Shard because he loves to pass the ball, and they don't have to rely on his scoring. He can get is 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists in Seattle and it will be a good game for him, for the Lakers that's a weak game for the role he has on the team. He also can take some of the ballhandling pressure off of Luke Ridnour.

    how about:
Lakers trade -- Lamar Odom, Devean George & Slava Medvedenko
Lakers recieve -- Ron Artest, Austin Croshere & Scott Pollard

This would give the Lakers Ron Artest and we will also have about $5 million more freed up for 2005 because of the difference of salaries of the two. The Pacers on the other hand are recieving two players in their final years of their contract in George and Slava which total at $8 million a year. We would have to deal with Croshere's $10 million dollars next season but the $5 million should help us a lot in that 2007 offseason, while still having Artest under contract for one, possibly two seasons after that with Kobe and I regret to say also Kwame.

The Lakers with Odom being the difference maker (IMO) have been playing very well lately and I would hate to say "what if it was starting to work out for Kobe and Lamar," Artest is much more of a consistent scorer and definitely a much better defender to complement Kobe. However, we still have to wonder if Indiana would consider this trade, because it's basically Artest for Odom in the end. Like I read earlier on one of Shape's posts though, Odom should be a much safer option for Indiana rather than Peja not only talent wise but because Peja also has the player option on his contract for next season.

I was thinking Lamar Odom and Devean George for Artest and future 2nd round pick sounds good. I'm getting tired of Odom's inconsistency and George hardly contributes anything.

What about Steve Francis? He's on the block, but very bad attitude, dont know how him and Phil will work out.

First he's overpaid, he doesnt fit the 07 plan. Yes, he would be much better then Smush. Phil said he needs a PG that can pass. I say we get a PG that can average over 5 assist a game. Even though Francis is averaging over 5 ast a game, we need a PG thats isnt overpaid.

Id rather get Artest then Francis.

Very creative trade scenario, I think every team benefits and I like the pieces the Lakers would add. I was just curious if it actually worked under the cap?

I still think the Lakers should try to get involved in the Ron Artest trade. Mitch needs to focus on trading with teams who have the players Indiana wants.

    Atlanta has Al Harrington
    Golden State has Troy Murphy

I think Mihm would be attractive to either Golden State or Atlanta. He's a decent center and both teams really lack any post presence or shotblocker. Throw in Slava's expiring $3M to make it work as well.

    Golden State Outgoing
    Troy Murphy

    Golden State Incoming
    Chris Mihm + Slava

    Indiana Outgoing
Ron Artest + 2.9M Trade exception

    Indiana Incoming
    Troy Murphy

    Lakers Outgoing
    Chris Mihm + Slava

    Lakers Incoming
    Ron Artest

I'm sick of the Lamar Experiment. He sucks, it's time for him to go get stoned and then show up somewhere else for games, because I'm seriously SICK of him.

Atlanta Trades: Al Harrington, Josh Childress
    Atlanta Receives: Lamar Odom

    L.A. Trades: Lamar Odom
L.A. Receives: Al Harrington, Josh Childress

    It works salary-cap wise.

    --------------------------------------------------
Over the summer, it was rumored that the Celtics offered Pierce for Odom, but we turned it down. With Wally in Boston, trading for Pierce is much more flexible. How about:

    Boston Trades: Paul Pierce
Boston Receives: Lamar Odom, Slava Medvedenko

L.A. Trades: Lamar Odom, Slava Medvedenko
    L.A. Receives: Paul Pierce

    -------------------------------------------------
Then there is New Orleans we can try to deal with. They're in a rebuilding process and J.R. Smith is on the outs there. He has talent loaded up to space, but he needs the work ethic for it to be utilized. Kobe can do that with him. They also have a hard-nosed PF that has been in a lot of Lakers minds, PJ Brown.

New Orleans Hornets Trade: J.R. Smith, PJ Brown, Bostjan Nachbar
New Orleans Receives: Lamar Odom (remember what Odom did with a rookie Wade? He could have a nice duo with Chris Paul)

    L.A. Trades: Lamar Odom
L.A. Receives: J.R. Smith, PJ Brown, Bostjan Nachbar
