I think Milwaukee gets hosed. I know they want to get rid of RJ, but Moute and Alexander are fairly cheap potential players. If this is the best they can do, I'd see them moving on.
No thanks. Trade LMA for Lee, Hinrich and Hill is not building for the future. You almost never win trading down in talent. If LMA goes (doubtful) it would have to be for a top talent. Lee doesn't count.
Quick! Pick out the PER he's accumulated under Mike D'Antoni: a) 15.4 b) 20.2 c) 18.0 d) 18.9 The correct answer is (d). The other three years are the PERs he got in his first three years. D'Antoni's system is, once again, being held up as an inflator of a player's stats when, with the correct stats, that is not the case. Ed O.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=cas85l 3-team deal with the bucks, blazers and suns. We receive Mba a moute and RJ. theres also this variation... http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=dj8faj oddly enough, this second trade claims PHX will win 2 more games after losing amare. Portland only gains one.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=dcppub Blazers ship out Batum, Travis and Raef for Butler and Thomas. Why would the Wizards do it? It would be almost purely for financial reasons, but with the huge salary commitments they have invested in Arenas and Jamison and Butler for the next 3 or 4 years they are seriously hamstrung in their ability to make moves and they are going to be major tax payers for the foreseeable future. The upside to this deal is they get a decent wing prospect coming back in Batum, and an instant contributor in Travis who can play either the 4 or the 3 at a minimal salary commitment of 3.6 mil next season, and they get to dump Etan Thomas' overpaid butt in the process. Etan Thomas becomes a bad contract and marginal contributor for the Blazers, but is just the cost of doing business to get a player of Butler's caliber Depth chart for now becomes: Blake*/Sergio/Bayless Roy/Rudy Butler/Webster* LMA/Frye/Diogu/Randolph (fixed) Oden/Przybilla/Thomas *out for who knows how long? Yes I realize this substantially favors the Blazers from a talent perspective, but when the financial considerations are thrown in it starts to look a lot less far-fetched. (ps. I would substitute Rudy for Travis if the Wizards insisted on it, which works: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=c7ptfs)
The basic idea has shown up before and is good, but I don't like the Batum addition. I don't think Batum adds much value for Washington, but I hate to see him go since he has shown such a willingness to play defense, handle and pass. I think we would really regret letting him go--especially if Martell doesn't come back strong.
Yeah, I really like Batum's potential too, but if you are trading a guy who could end up being a real stud someday for a guy who is already stud now (and at the same position) I'd just consider it to be the price it takes to get an all-star caliber wing.
ESPN completely updated the Trade Machine. I think I liked it better before. Check it out: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=c2o9ne
I don't like the UI as much. I like the Hollinger's analysis thing. Not that it's particularly deep analysis, of course, but it adds a little tidbit to the toy.
The new trade machine is pretty cool, I like the projected increase/decrease in wins: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=dal85r
