Ok, then let's compare LA to Rasheed Wallace in his prime. This is from Rasheeds 2000-2001 all star season. This is just to show what real offensive efficiency looks like. If you want to call LaMarcus a star, he should live up to it.

    Rasheed/LA

    0-3
    .707/.675

    3-10
    .444/.364

    10-16
    .491/.388

    16-3pt
    .444/.44

I know LaMarcus can be better. What happened to the 2011-2013 version, where he played like a real PF?
His FG% from 3-10 was 52.3% that year and he took 46% of his shots inside of 10 feet, as opposed to 38% this year...

Why did his FG% from that range fall so much? I think it's because he does those fade aways instead of going toward the hoop.

You should Tweet the coaches who have voted in LMA to 3 straight All-Star games your research. The only reason people call LMA an "All-Star" is because the coaches have literally chosen him as an "All-Star."

I assume you meant the 2011-12 version, when had a Nate McMillan as a coach?

I think it's the offense. IOW, I think he is doing what his coach wants.

How about trying to sign Greivis Vasquez? Selfless player. Led the league in total assists in 2012-2013...not rondo, not cp3, not any of the all-star pgs...Greivis Vasquez. He would also cost less than Livingston I'm imaging. 6'6 and would be a great playermaker off the bench.
I'd also like to sign a vet big man. Like Elton Brand. Or Jermaine O'neal. Or even trade Freeland and Wright with future 2nd round picks to OKC for Nick Collison. Let's say we traded for Collison.
Idk if any of you guys like Ben Mclemore but I've been real high on Mclemore since last year's draft. Still think he can be a great player. 6'5 really athletic and will be one of the best shooters in the future. How about trade Matthews Mccollum for Mclemore and the Kings 1st rounder. Other pieces would need to be added for salaries to match. I like Mccollum but he is 6'3. With Matthews expiring, a backcourt of Lillard/Mccollum would be pretty bad on defense. I think a Lillard/Mclemore backcourt will challenge Curry/Thompson and Wall/Beal as one of the best youngbackcourts.
Then we could trade the Kings pick or draft. I think I'd just trade the pick for established players unless we could trade up into the top 4. But I'd be interested in trading the 8th to Orlando for Afflalo and other pieces.
Then try signing Marion as a backup sf.
    So our roster would be...
    Lillard/Vasquez
Afflalo-Mclemore/Barton (I'd rather have mclemore starting to develop chemistry with Lillard)
Batum/Marion/Claver (Claver can play stretch 4 in small lineups)
    LA/T-Rob
Lopez/Collison/Leonard (Collison can also play 4 if LA or T-Rob is in foul trouble)

A bench of Vasquez/Afflalo or Mclemore/Marion/T-Rob/Collison would be a solid 2nd unit and a real big upgrade.
Just something I thought of not to long ago and havent given much thought to so idk if salaries and stuff would work. What would you guys think?

How will you pitch this to Chalmers?

"Sure, you start for the 2013 champs. But we in Portland won't treat you like ANY old bench trash. You'll be sitting between Will Barton and Alan Crabbe."

These are some good ideas. However, I think the Kings share your opinion on Mclemore; he did improve near the end of the season, he is still only 21; he is part of the young core they are building around, and I don't think they would make that trade, even if we didn't ask for the draft pick. If we can't make that trade, we wouldn't have a chance for your second trade to get Affalo and those are the two best pieces in your scenario. I think both sides might hesitate on the Freeland/Collison trade. Portland might think when you are talking about two hustle guys, it might be better to keep the younger one and OKC might think it better to stay with the veteran who fits with his teammates. I haven't really studied the Marion idea so i won't comment; i do know we have two SF's already.
I do think we need to find an elite 3-point shooter; we have some good ones, but not really an outstanding one. So maybe there is some way to get Affalo.

Is Chalmers a starter for most other teams? He's a decent point guard, but he's not a star. I guess it all boils down to money. Who will offer him the most money?

You answered your own question. "Do I want to be a starter on an NBA champion, or a scrub on a worse team getting no respect with my career shortened but making a few more bucks up in the invisible corner of the U.S."

You assume the Heat will still want him. We don't know what's going to happen with the Heat after this season. Their three stars are all free agents this summer.

Portland only has a certain amount of room this summer, they should look at another inside guy, get a pure point guard and maybe another shooter.
Their salary cap issue won't allow them to do much more.

We aren't talking about salary cap. The blazers won't have any cap space. It's the MLE and the BAE that we're discussing.

Shawn Marion will be available. I like him as another wing defender and vet presence. Think we can land him for cheap.

Russ Smith is already on the Blazers. His name is Will Barton, and he's taller than the other Russ Smith.
