Aaron Williams / Eric Williams / Loren Woods were productive? Since when? I mean they are veterans but they don't fill any needs for us. Unless Loren Woods bulks up to about 280~290 pounds he's just another twig. I'd still want Omar Cook instead because he'll come cheap and he will accept the role of being the third point guard.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting R_ChutneY:</div><div class="quote_post">In that case I think we should keep them because they are still productive players. However, I still think the Raps should buy out Lammond Murray who hasn't produced and doesn't want to be here. We need that empty roster space. I don't think Omar Cook can compare to Chris Duhon. Duhon is younger, has a jumpshot and can distribute the ball just as good. If I had the chance to land Duhon I'd go for it. However, point guard shouldn't be the focus for free agency. We need another Center.</div> Duhon doesn't have a jumpshot at all. He's got an mediocre 3 PT shot, but he's got no mid-range game at all. They are both similiar IMO. Both play tight defense, no jump shots, good passers, pass first-shoot second mentalities.
If we take a center than Arajuo and Sow have no room to develop... I dont' feel we have much of a chance at making the playoffs this year... close but not quite. I think we should split the center position to Hoffa, Sow and sometimes CV3... As for Free Agency we should take some risks, sign people who have potential..
Trade the two williams and lamond murray and a 1 round draft pick for paul pierce Eric Williams, aaron Williams,Lamond murray and a 1round draft pick for Paul Pierce What you guys think about that?
Nope I won't do that trade, draft picks are too valuable for our team. I want to stick to our team's philosphy of youth and salary... That's Rob Babcock style RIGHT there.
i would go after ronald "flip" murray who can play the point and the two. i've always had an affinity for earl watson but i wouldn't go after him this season because i think the raptors need to show some financial restraint so they can better utilize their money for a better free agent summer. and trading murray. amd eric williams is a must for me; eric might be a good fit for the pistons backing up prince.
trade idea!!! lammond murray+hoffa for doug christie? christie would make our backcourt a lot better and the thought of graham, mo. pete and christie roaming around defensively together would stifile the opposing teams offense.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Proz4k:</div><div class="quote_post">I would love to see Keyon Dooling play for us ... do we have any way to pick up Keyon ???</div> Financially, we might have a chance considering that he'll probably settle for the MLE or less. I doubt he'll come to Toronto though, he'd probably go somewhere else, maybe a decent team that could give him minutes or he'll probably re-sign with the Heat.

Plus Christie doesn't fit our bill of youth and cap flexibility. That guy is just old, he's going to retire in about 2 years.
Don't give up on Hoffa just yet, he's just played his first season for god's sakes. Look at NY fans, they acknowledge the fact that Channing Frye isn't going to be the 'man' in the middle they were looking for in his rookie season and will give him time.

I like the idea of sticking with youth, and staying in one philosophy for a while because CB4 is on his second coach again and his second GM, so I think keep it the way it is and don't give up on this philosophy, get young, and drop those contracts. I also don't think we are that bad when u really look at our team, if JG and D Ville can come in and both have strong impacts this season, I think we are playoff bound, but we wont make it far in the playoffs. This is where we face our problem with getting young, only Jalen Rose has been there, deep in the playoffs and since, the Williams dont count (Eric and Aaron) because they dont play we dont have any experience after loosing Donyell, I disagree with the idea of using the MLE to get someone with potential, because we have enough of that, we need a veteranbig man who can fit into the rotation.

Maybe those 3 for just Paul Pierce, but no way in hell would Boston give up 2 members of their starting lineup for cap relief. Let's see what happens this offseason, or if anything happens at all...
I dont think we need a new Point Guard, Alston avg. around 15 points a game. I think if we pick up Mutumbo were set. Also if we have enough maybe even swift? In my opinion Toronto's rebuilding right now so they wont see the playoffs for about 3 years. Bosh isnt ready for that leading position, even though toronto needs him to be
Well, the problem with Rafer is not his numbers on offence, but he has a tendency to get too shot-happy and maybe some competition at the point might help straighten him out since Ukic is gone. Swift has gone to the Rockets already, and if we're rebuilding I don't think an old guy like Mutumbo would be a good fit. I hope we make at least one more beneficial sign and or trade before the season begins....
How about this??? charlotte gets a vet big who's contract is up and another veteran shooter, who never wanted to be in TO. We get young guys and we get "good" guys as well. Successful Scenario Due to Toronto being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Toronto had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
