I think Rudy hit a 3 with the game in hand too once. I thought it was funny too, let Nic get his triple double! He looked like a kid who just "accidently" found his christmas presents on purpose. It's interesting now sports have these moral codes...it's a game.
This was one of the rare situations that this is ok, and everyone including Pop knows that. If it was an overly emotional game or and emphatic dunk then it might be a different story, or if it wasn't for something very significant like a tripdub when all you need is a couple of points and you played your ass off.
I wouldn't care if another team did it. If you get your ass kicked, you have no right to bitch. Period. There really needs to be no discussion on this.
I honestly don't get why players would care if someone takes or makes a meaningless shot at the end of a game. Who gives a fuck. Boo-hoo. Why even give it a second thought? Just walk off the court and let the other guy get in a practice shot. Bunch of fucking babies. In this case, it almost looked like Nico was waiting for the clock to run out then just tossed the ball up to see if he could make it. He looked shocked that it counted. I personally thought it was pretty sweet. Kind of like when someone makes a half-court shot.
Well ya know I would really like to see another player on a different team do this to the Blazers just to see fans reaction. I really want this to happen because I really think it wouldn't go over well with Blazers fans.
Nic actually said that it was the worst thing he's ever done in basketball. That's saying a lot since he bashed that one dude in the nuts.
It's only bad because of the stupid stigma that has been built around it. What difference does it make? None. Just a childish thing for people to be 'outraged' or 'disrespected' over. Bah.
It's silly, especially now because there are no rivalries anymore. If this was the Celtics/Lakers or the Knicks/Heat from the 90s, I think a move like that would have led to some punches.
Well I would venture to guess that trolls would try to entice... but most knowledgeable people that understand would be like "Hey, we got our ass kicked". I am pretty sure I know where you would land.
I thought Nic shooting a 3 pointer at the end of the game was noteworthy. Sorry for posting this thread, I guess.
Yeah, as I said, it was BS by Nic, but I don't think he should regret it. I'm glad he is playing so aggressively, and hope this doesn't cause him to regress because he's "too nice".
Well, I can see why he felt bad, but it was something in the heat of the moment and it's not even remotely comparable to Ricky Davis pulling that bullshit back when he was with Cleveland.
Did any of you guys see our last segment of the broadcast after we named the player of the game? I found all the angles and put together a sequence showing what happened. I had a tight look of Parker coming up to Nic right as they were about to inbound the ball. TP says something to Nic while smiling. TP nods up to the hustleboard, they both look up and TP says something again and they both smile. Then we see Nic hit the shot......then TP looking over at Nic smiling. I shit you not, Parker told him to shoot it. After looking at all 8 different camera angles......I honestly think Parker did. Nic is a grown man and can make his own decisions, but I think that's what happened.
Well, ask him, FAMS! And no, I'm sorry I missed your handiwork. The local amateur TV station that rebroadcast the KGW feed cut off the show when the game ended. Where can I view this historical record?
We were on KGW. I know they don't archive our games. No idea how you could see it. I have the game recorded here at home. Hit me up and I'll FaceTime it to you guys.
