<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Is it just me or is it funny that all of a sudden everyone knows OJ Mayo?</div> hahah, yeah, it is. Guys, I was just playing NBA Live at OJ's house, you know.
i've actually seen oj play i go to school at morehead state university which hosts the boys 16th regional tournament in kentucky. i watched mayo play in opening round games the past two years, and my friends wathced him play numerous times. he is one of the best high school players i've seen play, but if wasn't for a kid name dawson his teams would not have been as good. this kid was almost as good as mayo but didn't recieve the hype. without dawson teams would have double and tripled teamed mayo, this kid made mayo better than what he was.
Just saying that Lebron was On a nationally ranked team and had a national scedule so no lebron was not 3 he played much better competition then oj mayo. Greg Oden the real deal baby that's me class of 07
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Foreverballin:</div><div class="quote_post">i don't understand all the hype.... im in the same grade as OJ and went to nationals for 2003 .... and there were plenty of guys bigger/stronger playing at a higher level.. and most guys are from the D.C/Maryland/Northen Virginia area where there is competitive basketball... I see the hype comes because as a 7th grader he played Varsity basketball, but then again he was wayyyy better then his whole damN team.... if he was on Oconnell, Gonzaga's, or Dematha's (highschool in the WCAC confrence)... he wouldn't be playing Varsity as a 7th grader... im not tryin to be a hater, i understand these things.. juss some things are ridiculus</div> I dont see how you think hes not that good hes awesome! LeBron James went to the same size high school and look what he did. Oj Is probably the best high school player in the country and he is in 9th grade. So you have no idea what your talking about
I heard he's 15. Also heard his game was sick. He's already at the stage Bron was when he was in 11th grade, so he probably be better than Lebron once he's 18.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He's already at the stage Bron was when he was in 11th grade</div> Not at all. Where did you hear that?
Yall ain't heard of my boy O.J. Mayo?!?!?! The best sophomore in the country, and one of the best high school players period? Plays in Cinncinnatti, Ohio, and will soon be all over your televisions being compared to LeBron. Look him up.

who is this Mayo player? his name sounds like japanese, but kobe's sound like a japanese too (or is it a steak?)... i haven't heard of him... oh well, those who dont know will recognize him soon because SLAM is gonna do sth about it... LOOOONG LIVEEE SLAMMM!
Is it me or are players being built up as potential NBA players waaaayy too early. This kind of thing could screw with a kids mind after awhile. People are already hyping up a 15 year old calling him the next Lebron? It just doesn't seem right.

That kid OJ mayo was on the ESPN magazine and THe ABCD camp article on Slam magazine. And I think hes playing right now at WESt Viriginia or sometinhg im not sure, But they hes very good They calling him the next Lebron James , Hes 6'4'', 190 punds, and hes a freshman. BUt I still tihnk it's too early to be calling him the big superstar.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting starman85:</div><div class="quote_post">Is it just me or is it funny that all of a sudden everyone knows OJ Mayo?</div> I was waiting for someone to say that... why is it so hard to believe that he might actually know OJ Mayo? After all, this IS an online forum where everyone is anonymous, so what does he have to gain by saying that he knows OJ?
