I had jury duty in Vegas on a different case at the same time the Simpson trial was going on. There were a number of TV trucks and news personalities there. It was a madhouse. Given that he's not been found guilty of more serious offenses, he's entitled to his parole. Let's hope he does some good with what's left of his life.
Legally he is not guilty of murder and I think (I may be wrong) he had no prior convictions, correct? So the parole board would consider him a first time offender and would base parole on his crime, his prison record, and also his age, a 70 year old is less likely to commit a crime. Unless he manages to get himself elected president, and Simpson has little chance of that. Whatever we might think of him he should be treated like any other prisoner in his situation.
Yeah sure legally but everybody knows he killed those two. Then went into a downward spiral doing drugs, went broke. Tried to get back the memorabilia he sold by holding dudes up with a gun. Wrote a book called "if I did it" or some shit. There are a lot of people out there who weren't found guilty of murder but did do it. The justice system is fucked and if you have money and great lawyers most of the time you win.
