Exactly. That's why you and shape are my favorite Lakers fans. You're actually realistic.

Thanks for leaving me out bro

We were going to have to give up Odom in the Kidd deal if we even had a chance at snagging him, or so I believed, and that wasn't worth it. Other fans act like we believe trading for Kidd was a bad deal for us. Well, we can't give up our entire roster for one guy. Sure, I wanted the trade to happen, but not if we had to dump Odom off with two other centers and a point guard. Therefore, you get guys coming in and thinking we are insane for not doing an Odom/Bynum for Kidd swap, when actually, we aren't overrating our players, we are making sure we don't lose our only rebounder and legitimate second scoring option. You'd have to follow the team to know, though.

Oh yeah, I forgot about you too. You're fine by me. :-)

    HEY what about me lol

I think in order, after Gordon, there targets will be: 1. Gilbert Arenas 2. Elton Brand 3. Baron Davis 4. Jason Kidd 5. Jermaine O'neal

You're right that the Bobcats aren't going to scrap their long term plans in exchange for a couple of scrubs. And that's what Bynum and Odom are. Bynum's completely unproven, and besides a few bright flashes, could end up being a bust just like his teammate KB. And Odom's washed up and has never been a winner. Besides that, he doesn't even have a true position. I hesitate to call him a power forward or a small forward per se. And when point forward is a term attached to everyone from Antoine Walker to Joe Johnson, I doubt you can say that that's an attractive tag to have either.

The Bobcats trading Okafor for Bynum and Odom would be like the Bulls trading Elton Brand for Tyson Chandler and Brian Skinner. Think about where the Bulls rebuilding plans would be right now if they still had Brand: they'd be the favorites in the East, and may have already won a championship(tell me that a Bulls lineup sporting Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Brand and Wallace would have no shot at upending the Spurs, or at least giving them a run for their money). Luckily the Cats don't have Jerry Krause in their front office, and know that a quantity proved is better than a quantity unproven.

And the Bobcats have repeatedly said that Ray Felton is their pg for the future. So I'm pretty sure Kidd and BD aren't even on their radar(though as a Baron fan, I wish he were), and Gil only is as a 2 guard.
