I would assume NJ would want Rondo. And I'd probably do the NJ side of the deal, and cut Boston out. NJ's first, protected, and Deron for Camby, Batum and Wes? Sure. I try to talk Deron into taking his 2013 option, and maxing out the following year with us. We'd stil have a good amount of cap space, and we'd have Aldridge and Deron, to try to entice free agents with.
Well I was thinking the incentive would be having Camby's expiring contract to free up even more space for Howard or other free agents. They look like they would win more games this season; which could make that pick a "moot point". If they could pry Howard from Orlando, then they have a good core of Matthews (for defense), Batum and Howard.
I think Boston wants Williams. I think they are willing to do this deal because they get a first rounder, cap reduction in Pierce and Rondo. If Williams doesn't stay, then they would have even more space to rebuild. I would rather have Rondo than Willaims, IMO.
I'm just thinking that they would rather have the cap space and a young prospect in Williams than the bigger contract in Matthews. Still, I'm thinking NJ would rather have Rondo....
I wonder if this is possible? Camby, Felton, Matthews and Batum for Williams and Humphries. Since we would have a roster spot open; I would sign Mills. Hell maybe they would take Greg Oden's rights? That maybe the incentive?
Okay this is crazy, but it seems Miami isn't missing a beat even with Bosh being hurt. Camby, Rights to Oden and Craig Smith for Chris Bosh We would free up a roster spot so we can sign Patty Mills. Miami is good enough to win just as many games without Bosh, plus they get inside muscle in Camby and Smith. They can wait it out for Oden (Because if he does pan out, they would be unstoppable). This deal would give us an additional 3 mil in cap space to find a PG this off-season. New starting Line-up: Felton or Mills, Batum, Wallace, Bosh and Aldridge.
Is it though? Wade and LJ have already proven they can still destroy teams without Bosh. Last season's playoffs showed their glaring weakness at Center and PF. Camby would give them D and rebounding. If Oden actually can muster up and play next season, then this deal would be amazing for them. Rhino is a low post scorer, not the greatest, but decent. Also, they shed cap room and luxury tax the following year, getting rid of Bosh's contract.
Okay whacky #4 trade. Three Team: Boston, PDX and Miami Portland Trades: Felton, Batum, E Will, Camby, Rights to Oden, Smith. They receive: Chris Bosh and Rajon Rondo. Miami Trades: Chris Bosh. They receive Camby, Oden and Smith. Boston trades: Rajan Rondo. They receive Felton, Batum and E. Williams. Blazers sign Patty Mills. Blazer's new starting line-up: Rondo, Matthews, Wallace, Bosh, Aldridge. Blazer key reserves: Mills, Crawford, Babbit, Pryzbilla, Thomas.
Miami can get so much more for Bosh. That's terrible. You're basically offering up Batum and EWill for Rondo and Bosh. Come on. Miami laughs and blocks your calls.
Um, E Will and Batum for Rondo is actually pretty good, IMO. There are three very good free agents this summer and Boston will have about 27 mil free. You don't think their large market and roster wouldn't entice a Nash or D Will? As for Miami, if you put their hat on, they are going to be in a huge Luxury tax thresh hold. Also, they've already proven they can easily dominate even without Bosh. Adding the rights to Oden could pan out to something amazing. They could get him for cheap and he may pan out. That alone could make them an instant dynasty. In the meantime, they can have Rhino and Camby to get them tougher in the playoffs. Camby wouldn't be needed as much because Wade and LJ can keep them #1 in the league until playoffs.
it's not just ewill and batum for rondo. You're taking Bosh as well. They've shown they can win games without him. Woohoo. So they're just going to dump him? Oden COULD pan out to something amazing. Yeah. And he could here. If they want him, they can just sign him in the offseason when he is a free agent. Because he isn't panning out to anything amazing this season. Rhino and Camby. Oh boy! That's shit. Bosh is a top 25, top 30 player in the league, at least. And you're offering up Camby and Rhino. No. It's AWFUL for them.
Actually no they can't. They are way over the tax threshhold; so they would only be able to offer min MLE. But getting the luxury tax dump from Bosh, would allow them to give a Full MLE for another free agent. Actually puts them in a good position to get another piece.
And Oden's going to get offered more than 2 million a year in the offseason, knowing he's likely missing the season? Unlikely. Wow, the abiloity to use the FULL MLE. And can they get someone with the full MLE as good as Bosh? No. the trade is terrible for Miami.
