So... I guess they suck. (Except when they're playing Kevin Durant.) I mean, we've bitched and moaned and we're 12-8. They're 8-11 and they just lost to Dallas! Meanwhile, both Indiana and especially NY look better without their "superstars". And Oladipo separated from Westbrook suddenly looks like an All-Star. Maybe Presti's losing his touch. Stats.
gutting your team to acquire 2 allstar vets comes with a price........we once had one of the best starting rosters in the west.....but no bench...Melo should be coming off the bench...they have no scoring from there
They will eventually turn it around, they're too talented not to. But this team looks more like the 2011-12 lakers than a true contender.
They won't. They have no bench. Maybe ten years ago they could have carried with three superstars and zero supporting cast, but not in the current NBA.
They will turn it around to a 5th place finish. I wouldn't want to play them in the first round if I got 4th that is for sure. But they aren't going to WCF's imo.
Maybe having all that roster turnover and adding two stars who had entire offenses built around them wasn't a great idea. One of those things that looks great on paper but doesn't work well in execution. Of course, it's still a young season and they could go on a run.
You might be right. When you look at the depth chart for OKC, the PF position is the one position where there is plenty of depth. Melo, Patrick Patterson, Jeremi Grant, Nick Collison. Grant has played well, start him.
Idk someone like Abrines/Singler and a future first round pick. It's not like Lou is gonn cost a fortune, especially because there is no way he is a Clipper next season.
I started this thread yesterday: http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/is-okc-going-to-turn-it-around.323679/
They took two guys who were used to being the man on their teams and combined them with an over rated player who shouldn’t have won mvp in Westbrook and they aren’t good. Surprise!!!
If you take a point guard who set the all-time record for usage in his previous season and put him on a team with two other guys who view themselves as superstars, it just isn't going to work out well.
