    Hello darkness, my old friend
I think we need to save Crabbe in order to trade him for Karl-Anthony Towns.

LOL, maybe if he becomes a 75% shooter from 3 on 10 attempts per game

I would give a ton for Wiggins or Towns. If there is any chance at either of them Olshey should pick up the phone.

    I seriously doubt it though.

I think you just traded two shooting guards for two centers. We'd still have an unbalanced roster, just unbalanced at a different position.

Can Noel and Boogie co-exist on the court? PHI tried that with Okafor and Noel and it didn't work. They were forcing Noel to play out of position and his productivity suffered.

And, if we trade both Dame and C.J., who is our starting 2, Turner? Not sure that's such a good idea either. Dame needs to play with someone who can space the floor. Cousins can't, Noel can't, Aminu can't, Turner can't and while Harkless is shooting better right now, he isn't exactly known as a lights out 3-point shooter.

I hope everyone understand these our pipe dream trades. I see us maybe get our hands on Noel but I it doesn't make sense trading all your draft picks and half your team to get one of these guys my opinion.

Towns and Wiggins aren't leaving the Wolves. They are building around them. Especially Towns, he is untouchable. You guys and your ridiculous trade ideas, calm down, use logic

So then we have zero SGs and six PF/Cs. I thought we were trying to balance the roster, not corner the market.

I think that move makes sense talent wise, but there is a vast character gap between cj and DMC. CJ is one of the coolest guys in the league, and we have him locked up long term. DMC is only under contract one more year, and Portland would running a big risk in losing him for nothing.

    Dude. That would be sick.

    I actually like a Mase-Boogie PF/C combo.

I really don't wanna let CJ go, however. I don't think Cuz with 1 yr on his deal left has that kind of value

However, they might be willing to part with Dieng.

The one rumor that I heard was that Thibs was getting tired of Lavine and is open to dealing him. Not sure why, but that's the scuttlebutt. As part of a deal sending Crabbe away, I'd definitely be interested in getting in on that somehow.

not sure why we would have any interest in getting a guy that can only bring dunks to the table...

Have you seen him at all this year? He shoots 37% from 3 on 6.5 attempts per game. His TS% of 58.0 is almost identical to CJ's. He's a good ball-handler, and can both attack the rim and shoot effectively from the perimeter. A 3 guard rotation of Lillard, CJ, and Lavine would be absolutely lethal.

I also think he's worth more to the Wolves than we would be able to reasonably offer.

haven't watched him at all. but I have always been underwhelmed by him. sounds like maybe he is figuring more stuff out though, good to see that this stuff isn't happening in a contract year as well. I may come around, but as you say, he may be out of our reach anyway.

Crabbe/Cle 1st to Phi for Noel.

CJ/Plumlee/our 1st to Sac for DMC.

    Dame/Napier
    Quarterman/Connaughton
    Hark/Turner
    DMC/Vonleh
    Noel/Davis/Ezeli

We would need to address the SG spot.... but damn I like that so far.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
That's a bit fairer, but Noel is a useful player on a rookie deal--Crabbe is a well below average player on a pretty large salary. I don't think a very low first round pick evens it out. If you want to acquire a player, Crabbe probably can't be a part of it. The only way Portland is getting rid of Crabbe (pun possibility noticed but declined) is by packaging him with someone good in return for very little. Right now, there's probably no reason for Portland to do that, but we shouldn't consider Crabbe a trade asset in trade possibilities.

Right now, I'd say that (aside from Lillard, of course) Portland's only real trade assets are McCollum, Harkless and Aminu, with the possibility to use players like Plumlee, Davis and maybe Vonleh are throw-ins. Of the first three, Aminu is probably the fairest match to trade for Noel. I think that only works if you could play Noel and Plumlee together, which I'm not sure of.

Yes. So hideously written that I suspect the whole thing is a joke.

    http://basketball.realgm.com/wireta...-Considered-Blazers-2nd-Option-In-Free-Agency

Hassan Whiteside signed a four-year maximum contract with the Miami Heat worth approximately $98 million.

Whiteside first met with the Miami Heat and then the Dallas Mavericks before making his decision.
Whiteside revealed he also liked the Portland Trail Blazers.
“Portland was my second option,” Whiteside said at the team’s Saturday shootaround in Portland. “I would have came here.”

ESPN reported last week that Portland “chased” Whiteside in free agency, but nothing was said of Whiteside’s interest.
