Seems like they would only do it if they thought they were about to be fired. In which case, why are we interested?
they could but they probably wouldn’t, as a courtesy to Eversely. That usually only happens when guys make lateral moves. Imagine the reason he doesn’t get the opportunity to run a team is because you demanded compensation. Not a good look.
and the 20 or so mil jody just saved should mean we shouldn't let $ stop us from getting someone good. im curious what happens at the deadline in february. whether we try to duck the tax should give us an indication about the motives for the future of the team.
So much truth in here. Watching last night’s game was painful. I did watch to try and get a feel for the other guys but most of the 2nd 3rd string was like watching a college D2 game.
it’s embarrassing that guys like Elleby and Blevins are active members of an NBA roster. No serious GM would waste spots, two way or not, on guys like that.
Some agents will immediately run their client's names out there just for leverage to try to negotiate something better where they are at. But for almost all of those names, a GM/Pres of Bball Ops would be a step up from where they currently are.
The problem with CJ in a trade who actually wants a bloated contract and is more less one deminsional. It would team maybe competing for a championship that can use him for a 6 man maybe. But what we get back would be interesting you hope maybe one 1st in the deal. Nurk and Covington we be 2 players I would try to move at deadline because expiring contract and we need a more of rim protector and active center and Nurk just not rim protector and yes he gets a block here and there but so does CJ and Dame once and while. Roco he just haven't pickup Billups system and don't think he quick enough to play Billups style of defense.
I’m mostly happy that I don’t have to hear about Stotts or Olshey ever again. I have little faith anything will be done this season, as a new GM - if hired during the season - likely won’t start making major moves. Hope I’m wrong. The effort though of the players, that’s on THEM. And if anyone else - Billups. It’s his job to get them to play a certain way. It’s on the players to fucking play hard.
that not I'm defending Olshey's moves (etc), but who are the 5 guys you speak of? The only player on the team who has zero business being in the league (or on a professional basketball team of ANY sort) is Blevins.
Rebuild it! Let Dame rest up and heal. Rebuild with a mix of youth (Ant, Nas, Brown) and move players and acquire a much better mix. Nurkic = trade him RoCo = trade him CJ = trade him get back one or two solid pieces and a couple nice draft picks. I am not one for building around picks because you’re gonna be very disappointed about 86% of the time…so get a parter for Dame and a couple “nucleus” players and rebuild. But Nurkic, RoCo are bums and CJ might get us something?
