I can blame him for even offering 20 million a year to Gasol. Not smart; seems like a desperate move to prove we can attract a name star to Portland; but everyone would have seen it as a foolish GM overpaying an aging star.

This is what I am thinking also. Didn't Whiteside's agent know that PDX was being used? Didn't Olshey have any inside info that we weren't gonna get Howard, so that he could have focused on Mahimni? He seemed to be one step behind during the entire process.

It could be worse. Turner could go 'DeAndre Jordan' and change his mind.

How badly would people freak out if targets A an B had been Turner and Mahinmi at 9:01 June 30th? And then paid over perceived market value for them...

Serious question: has Olshey done a better job for Portland than Rich Cho has for Charlotte?

Everybody acts like we went after all the free agents that were rumored and missed. Only two I see that we legitimately went after and missed were parsons and gasol. Everything else was a rumor. Look at what mahimi got paid. We might of been going after him but he signed a big deal and obviously we now want to keep our RFA's. They all want too much money. Turner deal is eh to me but that was obviously plan b. This isn't the summer we hoped for but we still got better. We didn't even have a meeting with horford. Probably never wanted one given the fact that parsons was plan A. Whiteside just used teams for leverage, he wasn't going anywhere. It's easy to freak out and say "what is Neil doing?! Omg!". We got better. However you wanna look at it. Plus this young team has playoff experience now. They understand the next level.

Obviously durant to gsw might derail any plans within the next couple years to make the finals but you never know. Everybody needs to chill.

I don't know that Charlotte blew me away this offseason either. They lost Jefferson and Lin and added Hibbert?

They resigned Batum, a highly coveted unrestricted FA. Same with Williams.

Their summer is closer to the Warriors than the blazers in terms of success.

They replaced lin with sessions, who had a decent year last year for half the cost of lin.

Not saying its groundbreaking, but they did sign hibbert and sessions to good deals. Cho deserves some credit this year.

How the hell is this in any way a serious question?
    Charlotte under Cho
    2012-2013 21w no playoffs
2013-2014 43w bounced in the first round in a sweep
    2014-2015 33w no playoffs
2015-2016 48w lost in the first round 3-4

    Blazers under NO
    12-13: 33W no playoffs
    13-14: 54w Second round
    14-15: 51W first round out
    15-16: 44W Second round

If you want to talk about draft picks as well CJ/Dame are better then anyone that Cho has drafted as well. We have won more playoff games in both 2013 and 2016 then the Hornets have won in the 4 years Cho has been there GM. To add on top of that they play in the damn EAST and still suck year after year.

Blazers under Olshey: 33 wins to 44 wins.

This post really hurts my head. Under NO we have TWICE had better records then the Hornets best season under Cho at 48w and advanced farther in the playoffs Twice. We have also done it in the West while they are int he much easier conference in the east.
