Happy for the USA, happy for Dame. But damn that was an ugly finish after being up 14 with a couple of minutes left in the 3rd. After that point, there was not one player who didn't make some mental mistakes. Maybe next time they will prepare the team to take missed shots off the rim. It seemed like only Draymond knew the rule existed.
Atleast Damian was able to stay in the game this 4th quarter. He played his best game here imo but those two missed free throws were brutal.
As soon as Dame started moving with purpose off the ball, he got touches and the shots dropped. That's the most important lesson for him to take away from Tokyo, more so even than defense.
Glad the USA and Dame got the Gold Medal. Not exactly what we are use to seeing from Lillard....but they can never take his medal away from him. Olympic Champion!!
He's such a great freethrow shooter, and almost never misses clutch time ft's. I've got to believe that the FIBA ball with it's extra seems bothers his form. If he plays in another Olympics, i could see him doing better, and focusing more on shooting that weird Fiba Basketball.
Yeah, it's not just extra seams it rubberized material instead of leather so it's grippy instead of slick. I don't think he got the hang of it exactly but he did have one good shooting game against Iran. I also think he was just trying to be one of the great players on the team instead of playing his game like Durant, Tatum and even Holiday did.
Congratulations on the gold medal, Dame. Now get your butt home and tell all the leaches like Morey that you’re committed to being with the Blazers this season, then push Olshey to make a big deal.
Dame’s role as a spot up shooter now makes total sense. Just having him on the floor made other teams devote a massive amount of attention to stopping him from getting the ball, thus giving other players easier looks. Dame putting his body on the line for the good of the team. Damian Lillard, Olympic Hero.
I knew something was off from him. He is way too good to be playing they way he did this olympics. Im glad he had a positive impact in the medal game though.
