The homophobes are having a sad. They don't like being called homophobes. Just because they think gays should have no civil rights or public access doesn't mean they are, you know, bigots. They are good people! The Florida "Family Policy Council" is upset by all the rainbow flags. They are being forced to bow down before the gay flag! They are being persecuted and attacked because gay people called them bigots! Another suggestion: why don't we all just go back into the closets? If we weren't gay then people with "morals" would not have to kill us for being gay! 49 members of our community are dead, about an equal number injured, but Christians are being persecuted because they have been called bigots for being, well, bigots! They are all over TV and radio loudly explaining that "the gays" are silencing them.

The right just doesn't understand why us dumb queers are not lining up behind them. Trump still insists "the gays" love him although his approval in our community is a whopping 18%. Ben Carson, who applauded a public employee for refusing to do her job and issue marriage licenses, says that of course "the gays" should support Trump. Sean Hannity, who said marriage equality means he can't teach his children to be homophobes (bullshit, Brown v Board of Education does not prevent anyone from teaching their children to be racist, Obergefell v Hodges does not prevent anyone from teaching their children to be homophobes) said of course "the gays" should support the right. Newt Gingrich, who said marriage equality was a gay mafia plot, because getting married is just like organized crime, wonders why "the gays" are not on board with the right. Possibly something about opposing our civil rights? Proposing 150 anti-gay bills in the past year?

Speaking of which, a federal judge in Mississippi has upheld their antigay law that allows any service to be refused to gays including suicide prevention if Jesus says so. Another Christian minister has endorsed the massacre, adding that he prays all the injured die. Had an imam said that the right would be up in arms demanding every Muslim repudiate, but it's a Christian so it's OK. But they pray for us.

However, credit where credit is due, the Republican lieutenant governor of Utah gave a heartfelt speech at a rally acknowledging his own homophobia. I hope he remembers his good words next time an antigay bill is proposed in his state.

 

Maybe he just needs to turn his lights on!

 

Aw Cranlady! I do wish you could find a way to heal. You could always Marry but you won't. Fine, no problem. Now the only difference is, they don't check to see if you are actually married. That's fine too, it never was a function of government anyway and it shouldn't be the function of government. It wasn't the function of the US government until they developed the IRS tax code. The author, a local businessman named Mohammed Malik, describes how a member of their mosque joined al-Queda in 2014. When Mateen expressed support for the same views, Mr. Malik contacted FBI. They investigated but found nothing to go on (just having ideas is not a crime).

Where as, in the New Testament, he is a name given to the weakness of men, encountering and giving in to temptations. But he is weak, begone Satan!! And he goes.

Then we come to the Satan of Revelations and I admit, this book loses me. The teachings of Jesus is mostly good to this point,
Satan is here in the current life and he can be kicked out by will alone until Revelations? What the hell happened? Seems like this section only has value to the tithes collector.
My pantheist/Christianity ignores this section and Satan rules nothing unless you permit him.

Telling me how I need to "heal" is bullshit. My community gets massacred, Congressional leaders, one major party, a good part of the sports world and a lot of religious leaders pretend it's just some amorphous dead people because they can't bring themselves to say "gay" or "Latinx". A presidential candidate and his supporters who oppose any rights for us tries to use our dead bodies to demonize another community. And a longer and longer list of Christian ministers prays for the wounded to die. Meanwhile Christians are so persecuted because some idiots rolled a joint in a few bible pages. Shove it. I don't want homophobes wishing me "healing" while they pass another antigay law. I'll "heal" when my civil rights are taken for granted.

(Yes, I acknowledge, some religious leaders include Christians did react in exemplary fashion.)

Trump, the great friend of gays, spent yesterday with the country's leading gay hating organizations trying to persuade them he hates gays enough for their support.

Latinx is used because Latino is male, to say Latino/a or Latino/Latina puts everyone in binary (male or female). It's an artifact of Spanish and other Latin languages that we don't have in English, a non-Latin language. So some in the Latin gay community have used the gender neutral term Latinx. It was Latinx Night at Pulse when the massacre took place.

I get a spelling error using that word, but you used it, so I will. I didn't see you use that word to characterize the Killer of the the people in Orlando, but you use it for me. Odd! Really odd since you always refer to the people killed as gay and your people instead of Americans like I see them. Americans under attack. Under attack by a killer who is of a religion with clear directions from the founding prophet on how to treat the gay people. So your turn, let us hear it, on why you see me as a homophobe but don't see the killer of the gay Americans as a homophobe.
