They have declared war on us and the President and Congress should treat it as real. ISIS took credit for this event, this guy says He is one of them. We did nothing! We let him prove it! Dude, you need to stop. 50 people were killed for no other reason than because they're gay. Supposedly this guy saw a couple of men kissing and that set him off. How would you feel if the sight of you kissing someone could cause that person to go home, get a weapon, and murder innocent people? How would you feel if you now were afraid of someone coming into a club and murdering you and 50 other people simply because you possess a quality that they don't like?

Saw a report come across my TL that the shooter had been spotted at Pulse "dozens" of times before the shooting. Not sure if it's true. I haven't had the time to do more research as I'm at work. However, it wouldn't surprise me. None of this feels like an islamic extremest-only action. The dude was mentally ill, had fundamental extremist leanings, had a history of violence and probably struggled with his own sexual identity. Combustible combo.

My point is if you are more worked up 1 over the other maybe you arent such a great person after all. I see an attack on us citizens. She's worked up about gay people being murdered because she IS gay. It's easy to forget what gay people went through because we have come a long way in the past ten or so years, but they had to hide for fear of persecution. When something like this happens, it's a reminder that there are people out there that will do you harm for no reason, other than the fact that they don't like that you're different. The gay community tries to purposefully make a point that they're different because, for the longest time, they had to hide who they were. Now they're proudly taking ownership of their rights, and showing that they're not afraid to tell people that they're gay.

I don't know what I, an individual, can do to stop this from happening but I'm open to suggestions. I just feel helpless as I read accounts of the massacre, and I feel more will certainly follow. There are no good answers.
