I've been a pro wrestling fan in and out since childhood, grew up in Hulkamania and all that. Loved the Macho Man. Some of the stuff WWE nowadays does makes you wonder why the hell you're watching it, and then other times -- like The Rock coming back -- it certainly is worth it. It's a spectacle and entertainment, and I've come to appreciate what these guys do, traveling 300 days a year, doing 200-plus shows around the country and the world with barely any time off unless they get injured. It's gotta be grueling and it's a brutal schedule to work, I'm guessing. It certainly isn't for everyone, but it will always have its niche in pop culture. Being able to attract 70,000-80,000 people every year for Wrestlemania is pretty impressive.
I rented that pay-per-view. Mick Foley was a crazy fuck. I remember renting his shit when he wrestling in Japan in fire matches getting hit in the head with barbwire baseball bats and losing his teeth. That guy took it to the extreme.
