I like Harrison Barnes and Jared Sullinger from this class. The best player is A. Davis but we wont be bad enough to have a shot at a high lotto pick. I think we could move up for one of these two. Sullinger meausured 6'10" at the Amare camp this summer. Could be a nice player to develop at the five.
We traded away our 2013 pick. Kind of puts us in an odd spot that tanking could help for this season but wouldn't help as much next offseason. Maybe root for Aldridge to have a David Robinson year and we get the next Tim Duncan? Although I do believe the pick we traded away has something like top10 protection.
Portland isn't bad enough to be high in the lottery, but if Aldridge missed the season, that might put them there. I can't find it in me to root for a player losing a season, though, especially when his physical ailment is heart-related (not that I seriously thought you were advocating that). My main observation is that the strength of the draft class is only of marginal value for Portland. They're not going to be bad enough to draft in the best part of the prospect field. So while there may be better talent then usual where they do draft, a lot of teams in the league are going to benefit more.
Cody Zeller looked great today against Anthony Davis. 6'11" 230lb. C from Indiana. DX says he's a top-10 pick when he comes out.
A player to watch out for is former Grant High star Mike Moser. He's found a home in UNLV and is leading the nation in rebounding as a 6'8" small forward. Scouts are saying he's elevated his draft status to a first round lock and on the rise.
That's close to how I see it, you didn't mention Wallace and Batum playing together at Forward but I'm guessing you meant it. The first pre-season game is 8 days away and we still haven't signed that FA... About the Draft, I'm joining the Festus Ezeli camp, liked him since the first (and only) time I saw him. And not just because of his name.
When You look at SF, PF, C that's 146 MPG. We have Batum, Wallace, Aldridge and Camby. If Batum, Wallace and Lamarcus play 40 MPG each and Camby plays 26 that's enough. But Realisticly, going into the season with this plan, when you only have Babbitt and Chris Johnson as insurance is very risky. I'm guessing this situation when we could ideally use the players we have and Need another player but can't promise him minutes is what makes finding that player complicated.
In the video (and only the video) his shot release seems a little slow, and he's skinny as hell and not going up against many bigger people.
one of roys strengths was that he was a legit 6'6", rivers is what 6'3"? and ill still be excited for the draft, even if we are picking 16-20ish, we just need to strike gold
