To land a top-tier player, along with the expiring contract of Whiteside, a prospect will certainly be a part of the deal. Nassir Little or Zach Collins Who should we keep out of talks? Go!
Well it depends on who you’re getting back. I’d lean towards Nassir in this scenario because Zach is up for an extension and any top player would likely have a very expensive contract. Rather move CJ.
If you're trading Zach you're probably getting a starting 4 out of it anyways so he'd be the one to go. I like both but I think Nassir is a bigger difference maker and has a higher ceiling. Zach will be a fine role player but I don't think his ceiling is any higher. It's not like he was setting the world on fire in the few starts. Small sample size however. Perimeter guys have a bigger importance in the league than big men at this time.
We have 3 first round picks to trade, and 3 second round picks to trade. Hopefully that'll be enough for OPJ and Blake.
How about we keep everyone until we actually see what the current roster plays like healthy? If that comes after the deadline, so be it. If that means were in the lottery, so be it. Wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen.
Zach is a bigger difference maker in our defensive scheme however. Whiteside's empty stats have surprisingly demonstrated Collins worth as a rim and paint protector.
So Ant isn't on that list? I really like the guy but? In any case I would personally rather trade CJ and keep Ant "assuming" he still looks good come late Jan into the deadline or even wait till next summer when we can evaluate him after a full season of quite a bit of minutes
Sign Noah, trade Whiteside/Little for Love. Little has been playing very well so his trade value is high. Gotta give up to get. Dame/Simons CJ/Hood/Trent Melo/Baze Love/Skal Noah/Skal When Nurk and Collins come back, Skal heads to the bench. Also- Love can play some center before those guys come back. Size up the rings
I like Nas is 19 and on a rookie deal so I'd move Zach....Zach has had injury issues every season it seems...and he's going to have a bigger cap hold to re-sign here. That's just me though, I think Olshy is in love with the guy and would move Nas first.
Zach's shoulder is a red flag for me...him being a center it's going to get tested...you just know opposing centers are going to swipe hard at it in the paint and that's such an easy injury to re-injure.
The great thing about Zach is that he can play both center and PF. I would not trade him as a first option. It's some insurance that we had last season if he or Nurk gets hurt.
Modern medicine and rehab, I’m not too worried about it. The only injury that scares me as a fan is Achilles.
Little looks like a young Gerald Wallace, and I would love that. He worked out great here. Ger-ald Wall-ace! Ger-ald Wall-ace!
Zach is only in year 3 of his 4 year rookie deal so he's still under contract for cheap all of next season too.
