From an operational standpoint, not having all of the ads that BBF has sure makes the thing work quicker. Probably doesn't help with the bottom line around here though.
How about the fact that I now post here? That makes this the greatest forum in the history of 'Western Civilization'. -Petey
I constantly get page loads at about 1.5 seconds each. We are going to be a lot faster than many sites for a long time to come. We're also not out to squeeze every nickel out of every page view at the expense of the site being fun to use and high quality.
I like that I can swear, even though I still haven't done it yet. Expect a series of posts from me in the near future that appears as if I may have Tourette Syndrome.
I bet during a game thread, something will go wrong and you'll want to swear No beef from us about it!
unliimited swearing. wow. almost too good to be true. i feel a little naughty just thinking about it....or maybe more like a car chasing dog who finally had a car stop, felt like he "caught it" and now doesn't know quite what to do with it.
Hellz fucking yea. But if you swear to much, you'll get bitch slapped. So make sure you are absofuckinglutely sure about where you use your fucks, shits, bitches, cunts and assholes.
I know I was j/k. pritch slapped is an expression we use for the Blazers GM(Kevin Pritchard) and trades he makes with other GM's. He usually slapped the shit out of them on trades at least so far.
Damn you, Main Event, that's what I was going to fucking say, lol... EDIT: Maybe instead of filtering out swear words the site could be set up to flag them in the thread title? Is there any way to smilie-ify the Parental Advisory label used on recordings and have it automatically attach to any thread title linked to a thread containing offensive fucking language?
The mods should take care of that kind of thing. We're not going to hassle anyone over what they do along those lines, though.
For those of you not familiar with the term, this photo taken after the trade for Bayless on draft day will be informative:
I was thinking along the lines of allowing those who would prefer not to read such language to see which threads they might want to avoid. You know how hypersensitive sanctimonious pussies can be, lol...
There's a few threads I've edited the titles to remove swearing simply because it doesn't look very good in the forums listing of threads and new posts page, etc. I've also added "(NOT WORK SAFE)" to some thread titles for threads that contain big pictures with words in giant letters on them that aren't work safe. Nobody's posted any porn yet, and we'd probably delete that, as well as links to sites that would get people in trouble. I'll look at vbulletin.org and see if there's any kind of hack to fix up titles as you suggest.
