I'm done debating with you because you obviously are biased towards JJ. I'm pretty sure the scouting report would know more then you.</div>Oh my god dude, just ask a real college fan. They will all tell you that JJ plays some nice defense and is multi dimensional on the offensive end. You are the epitome of a Duke hater in the fact that you will not admit any Duke player is as good as they are. How could you tell me JJ cannot play defense, or take the ball to the hoop if you don't watch college basketball?
I think J.J. will have a Jeff Hornacek career which is nothing to laugh at.CB that report was not this year.
JJ should a be a solid pro, not great but solid. Maybe start at the beginning of his career and be a key guy off the bench as the years goes on.I think his size will hurt him when defending some of the wing players in the NBA, JJ is not a pg. But neither was Delonte West, who played off guard most of the time to Jameer Nelson at St Joe's. And he worked on it to become one for the Celtics. Maybe JJ can do it, but I see him playing off guard in NBA.One thing though, I think he might get picked too high this year in the draft.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Who's the one being ignorant? Read the damn scouting report. JJ IS NOT A GOOD DEFENDER</div>He's improving, and what says he won't continue before the draft. Scouting reports are premature as of right now.
I don't care if that report was a month old or something. It's not like JJ's game is just gonna dramatically change over 1 more year like Celts said it has. I have seen him play this year and he is a sub par defender. Whatever this is worthless, obviously a Duke homer.

JJ IS NOT A GOOD DEFENDER</div>So are you telling me Coach K is ignorant to JJ's defensive abilities? Kid I have watched all the Duke games, and I know for a fact that JJ is not a bad defender. That report you sent me didn't even say he was a bad defender, it just said he could use improvements on his defense.
It's not gonna say 'bad' defender. Scouting reports aren't written like that. When it says needs improvements it means that he is not a good defender. And please give me that quote from Coach K.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It's not gonna say 'bad' defender. Scouting reports aren't written like that. When it says needs improvements it means that he is not a good defender.</div>And he's improving it, so what are you trying to say?
<span style="color:#3333FF"><u>JJ. Reddick -</u></span>To anyone that has seen JJ Reddick play, you know of his strengths. The man comes of screens, reading the moves of his defender to create opportunities for himself. This year, he can flare out to the corner in order to spot up for an open three pointer, or curl into the lane to create a spot up twelve footer. By using techniques very few have been noted to use in the past, Reggie Miller and Rip Hamilton come to mind, JJ has managed to become the ACCs All-Time leading scorer and 3 Point Shooter, abolishing previous records. However, what many don't see that only see occasional Duke games is that JJ is an incredible passer. Using curls into the lane, JJ sets up teammates for open jumpers, and rarely forces shots when he doesn't need to or have momentum. He is a smart player, something that most NBA Teams lack. Underrated aspects of his game? His defense. While he won't be a Bruce Bowen, he is capable of playing decent defense in spurts, and is in incredible condition. For JJ to succeed, luck has to factor in. He has to land with a team whereas he can utilize his abilities as well as possible. If he is to go to a team that has assertive scorer already, such as Atlanta, he might have trouble fitting into the NBA game. He needs to go to a team willing to be unselfish, and feed off other players. A team that might appeal to him is Orlando for instance, that has a Dwight Howard (Ala Sheldon Williams) and no superstars. This would allow him to get off shots, and be a contributor. He needs to be in a system where adjustments are willing to be made in order to benefit himIf he goes somewhere like that, he could be a high 15-18 point scorer, almost like a poor mans Richard Hamilton. However, if he can prove capable of hitting long range three pointers, he could be a 20 point scorer, pulling of a role more similar to that of a poor mans Michael ReddBasically, JJ needs a place where he can be one of the top players, and where he can get the ball in half court sets off screens and in position to shoot or curl into the lane. He needs the right situation, and if he doesn't get it, he might vanish deep onto a bench somewhere, a splinter firmly jammed up his butt....<u>High Hope for Career</u>Michael Redd (Shooter with occasional penetration skills. 20 PPG)<u>Probable Hope</u>Poor mans Reggie Miller (Shooting off screens, 3 Point Range, Clutch Ability. 15 ? 18 PPG)
He is very comparable to Jeff Hornacek in my opinion...A 6'3" 190 pound SG who got 15,000 points in his career.
I can't get you a link on that quote by Coach K, but if you don't believe I couldn't care less. Oh yea, CB4 check out Kmart's post. Theres a non Duke fan that isn't ignorant to JJ's abilities on the defensive end.
umm...yeah. Okay, you win, he is a good college player. Still not a good defender but that doesnt mean he will play will in the NBA. I think he will be piss poor at first. And unless he develops other skills that he can do consistently then I don't think he can be succcesful in the league.
Yeah besides his amazing shot, quick release, smarts, effort, work ethic, I don't see how he can be a good NBA player.
So, yeah basically quick release and good 3 point shooter is his main attribute on offense right now, I'm saying he has to develop other skills. Can you JJ fans atleast say that he isnt ready for the NBA right now? Come on, all of you know what he will have a crappy first year.
He has other skills. Amazing shot, three point accuracy is great, midrange game he's added is very good, he's always working to get open instead of standing around, he's quick, he's very smart, amazing using screens, good passer, great endurance, great leader...I could go on but you would much rather point out a couple little flaws instead of look at the big picture.
