Seems like some here are focusing on failed 4th down conversions though, not accomplishments. I think both should clearly be considered; you want to a full picture. I can think of a lot of people who have accomplished a lot, but are mostly known for their failures. And vice versa.
I agreed with all Lanning’s 4th down decisions last week. Especially the one at the very end. You convert that 1st down and it’s ball game. Their offense had shown all game that they could get what they wanted. A 30 yard punt wouldn’t have really mattered. In fact the 30 yard punt would have drained more time off the clock unlikely for us to get the ball back with enough time to score The one before the half, you’re trying to make UW play catch up at home.
the Huskies sure have been on the good side of several bad calls, and non calls, the last 2 weeks. I think the beavers will beat them, and even USC might although the trojan defense is bad I'm sure not anywhere close to penciling in the Ducks making the Pac-12 championship game. Next week is going to be a very difficult challenge in SLC. USC is always dangerous and Caleb Williams is a better QB than Cam Ward. Beavs will be a challenge too the Pac-12 is not a cakewalk this year like it was most times in Chip's days
Sneaking back into the conversation is the Utes Whom just beat USC. The Ducks need to go into Utah and win a game still.
Only Loss: at Washington, 36-33 Why they're ranked here: Because the committee showed the scenario was possible last year with USC, and Oregon is in position to follow that blueprint -- with a different end result. In 2022, the Trojans lost their regular-season game to Utah and were still the selection committee's No. 4 team before the Trojans lost to Utah for a second time in the Pac-12 title game. There is a strong possibility Oregon runs the table and earns a rematch with Washington in the conference title game. Oregon avoided what could have been a trap game against Washington State on Saturday, has a Heisman contender at quarterback in Bo Nix and a defense that stifled Colorado and most others along the way. The Ducks' path, though, is more difficult than that of Texas. Oregon travels to Utah on Saturday and still faces USC and Oregon State, which should also be top-25 opponents. If they survive that lineup, it will be hard for the committee to exclude the Ducks. What needs to happen to reach CFP: The Ducks need to run the table and win the Pac-12 -- ideally in a rematch against Washington. They also need the other top teams in the league -- Oregon State, Utah, USC, Washington -- to stay ranked by the committee. Those conference wins against ranked opponents will help compensate for a weak nonconference schedule that included Portland State, Texas Tech and Hawaii. If Oregon gets into a side-by-side comparison with Texas, it will need its Pac-12 opponents to be ranked -- and it could also have concerns about a common opponent in Texas Tech. The Ducks beat the Red Raiders 38-30 in Week 2, and Texas ends the regular season against them on Nov. 24. https://www.espn.com/college-footba...ms-best-chance-reach-college-football-playoff
A lot of horrible officiating yesterday. PIs, Offensive holding calls, and bad spots. I thought Houston got screwed against Texas on their last drive on 3rd shown when he clearly got the first down and they marked it a half-yard short. Not sure why they did not review it. Even the announcers were for calling them out on it.

you agreed with all of them? that’s why you’re not a coach. (beyond all the other reasons.) too many poor coach calls gave that game away.
