Did the Ducks have injuries on their lines? That was their biggest issue imo. They couldn’t get pressure on Penix and they couldn’t run or stop the run consistently.

Jordan Burch left the game in the 1st Q and I never saw him return. What has made Oregon's DLine so good in the 2nd half of the season was Dorlus on one side and Burch on the other. from what I saw, for the most part, was the Washington RB's running to the side of the defense that Dorlus wasn't on

2024 QB Michael Van Buren de-commited from the Ducks today, but this was something that I'm told Oregon expected, and maybe even encouraged.

The secondary needs to improve 1 on 1 coverage. Just my opinion....

Washington has some receivers who will be playing on Sunday, but the Ducks were down one starting CB to injury (Florence) while the other (Jackson) was playing through injury which didn't help the cause.

They lost Burch in the first quarter and he has been huge this season.

Rumor is that Cam Ward is coming to Eugene but I guess we'll see.

yeah, that's a rumor at there, but I'm guessing this is an NIL bidding war and Ward will go to the highest bidder

besides that, I doubt a senior arriving in the transfer portal is a reason for a HS QB to de-commit. Keep in mind that Van Buren was benched by his coach for part of the season. And as I alluded, from what I've heard, and read, I think this was probably a mutual decision. Oregon is well over the 85 scholarship limit so I'd expect there will be a lot more news like Van Buren and Crozart

Brand only matters when you win. The Ducks are losers this year. Face the facts. The “Brand” took a huge hit this year.

How have you come to the determination "the 'brand' took a huge hit this year."?

Not from recruiting rankings, not from viewership, and not from the amount of attention the program received nationally, and not by their record.

No it didn't. Lol. Not in the slightest.

Brand endures. Look at Texas. They can suck for years but they have a brand.

Brands in this generation endure because it's more about who you rep than if they win. They have cool jerseys? I still want to go there.

Different generation. Brand endures losing. It doesn't make sense to me either and I think it's lame, but it's how it is now.

Losing to the #3 team in the country twice by under a touchdown combined is a big hit to the brand?

    I don't think so

In a Ducks thread you obviously don’t want to say anything negative about the Ducks.
Hope they can win an important game next year?
I’m not convinced at this point.

So was the brand going to take a hit unless we won the natty?

We only lost to one team. It happens. Couldn't get past them. Otherwise we finished the season 11-1 and a loss in the PAC championship. Hopefully we do well in the bowl but not sure without Nix.

No way. You are fine. But I have to say, I disagree with you to. The brand has been on the rise for a couple years and they haven't won. Last year they didn't win, but this year was a better recruiting year than last. Oregon didn't have go win to have LBJs kids in on Oregon.

If what you say is true, then ALL 4 & 5 star recruits would be at Georgia, Ohio St, Clemson and Bama and that's far from the case.

There are a lot of recruits. Georgia Bama and Ohio State can only have so many and still give them Playing time. Eventually there will be players wanting to go to a successful school. I’m not saying Oregon isn’t successful. They will get their players but everyone must admit winning helps recruiting. Personally I think Marcus Mariota winning the Heisman did more for Oregon than any coach ever did. Consistently the Ducks have a QB in the conversation through a number of coaches.

    You’re right.

Alabama and Ohio State have completely destroyed their brand over the last couple years.

So explain to me how Alabama winning multiple National Championships has destroyed their Brand and exactly how you want to put the Ducks even remotely in the same class as the Crimson Tide?
Please please I’m waiting to be entertained.
