Duke and Kentucky can have down years and they will still get 5 star kids for basketball.

It's the brand. The brand will outweigh losses.

    Unless you're Nebraska.

Why don't you directly answer some of the questions you've been asked?

Nothing wrong with saying Oregon fell short, has areas to improve, etc. The push back you're getting is because you're making fairly large claims without really backing it up.

Georgia's brand is getting distroyed right now. They'll never recover from this.

See now this is funny. Again Duke and Kentucky have won Championships. Nebraska has won a championship. Oregon which nationally speaking and as far as location relevance is on par with Nebraska has won nothing.

But what exactly is happening to Alabamas brand?
That’s why I laughed out loud literally when the original response said their “Brand” will be fine.

Nothing significant is happening with any programs "brand" in one conference championship game where a 12-0 or 11-1 team lose to each other It's silliness. When this game ends, both program will be viewed as elite national brands.

YOU said: "Brand only matters when you win. The Ducks are losers this year."

Ohio State hasn't won a natty in 10 years and has frequently lost to Michigan lately.

Alabama has lost for the last 3ish years, mostly to Georgia.

So, as you said, "Ducks are losers this year", Ohio State and Alabama have been losers for multiple years.

    Like I said.
I should not have said anything negative about the Ducks in a duck thread.
Obviously even more so after a tough loss.
People aren’t ready to discuss this at this point.

    Very rational take.

I'm sure if Bama ends up winning this game, there will be folks on the Georgia boards freaking out about coaching, players, and the direction of the program. It's hard for some to tip their cap, say a team played well/better for a season, and not draw grand conclusions the other team(s) are total failures.

I didn’t bring up “Brands”. As far as I’m concerned brand means nothing.

You didn't say just something negative though.

You said "Seems to me they will lose most of if not everything they built ... Now the Huskies are a different story. When players are asked who they want to play for on the west coast?"

You were then asked to justify why you say these pretty outlandish things. One game is going to "lose most of if not everything they built"? What's the justification for that?

What's the justification for saying players will want to play for the Huskies when Oregon has repeatedly out-recruited them significantly?

When we say WHY we doubt these things, you just "lol brand", when it's quite clear that Oregon is where it is because of brand -- whether you want to accept it or not.

On the flip side of that if Alabama wins and gets into the playoffs then wins another title what do people around that team say?
Would there be a chance for another meeting between these two teams in the championship? That’s an NCAA “Brand” dream scenario.

Hmm... just saw that Texas won the big12 to finish 12-1, including a win over Alabama. How crappy would it be for them to get left out of the playoff in favor of a team they beat that finished with the same record.

I'm sure they'll be saying "We're going to lose most of, if not everything, we've built!"

You’re joking right? This is comedy?
The Ducks have won nothing! Nothing at all.
They continue to beat bad teams and build up a season to lose again every single year.
You must see this right? The Ducks have won nothing. You are trying to compare them to teams that have multiple national championships. They are not in that class. Sadly they will go now the the B1G and have to actually earn their ranking. Too bad they couldn’t win just one big game this year.

    So to be clear --

Do you think Washington is going to start to out-recruit Oregon?

    AND

Do you think Oregon is going to become an irrelevant team?

    SIMPLE - YES OR NO?

Again. It’s obviously way too early to bring up anything negative about the Ducks.
It was in poor taste on my part.
I will stop here because obviously many are just not ready to discuss this.
I’ll take my leave from this conversation.

people are more than willing to discuss this. But when you start out with such an extremely nonsensical take on the situation, there can be no real discussion until you move away from that, especially when you hide behind it's "too soon"..as if a couple of days would make a difference and allow us to see your side of things and say "yeah, that makes sense"...LOL.

your 'it's doom and gloom for Oregon....they are losers now and headed for the abyss', is complete and utter horseshit...no point in debating the texture of the horseshit

Its not just if you have brand, its how much brand equity you have. As long as Nike is associated with The Ducks they’ll have significant brand equity.

If Alabama goes on to beat Washington, it means Oregon would have not necessarily made the playoffs anyway.

Do you leave out 1 loss Georgia and 1 loss Alabama who just beat them over the Ducks? I think not. I'm not even sure if Washington gets in. If FSU dominates their game, it gets even more interesting.

Washington looks like the weakest of the bunch to me.
