6-6 now. Errors have killed the Ducks. Pitcher seems tired. Need to go to bullpen

This Ducks team is not it. Haven’t been too impressed with their pitching

I don't pay much attention to baseball. But it does seem that Oregon's had issues with pitching all season

Ducks with 3 straight homers in the 1st to take a 4-1 lead

I'd say their pitching was much improved from last year. In the regional, the pitchers only gave up 5 runs in 29 innings. Second best ERA of all 64 regional pitching staffs. Ironically, Texas A&M had the best team ERA.

    you may be right

I just looked at the Pac-12 stats. In pitching, Oregon was:

    3rd in era
    2nd in strikeouts
    2nd in hits
    4th in runs

but 9th in walks and HR's

Yeah, far from a perfect pitching staff. Seems like they got better as the season went on and the offense got worse. Though the bats have been solid against A&M, who had the best team ERA in regionals.

Oregon is out-talented against A&M, but baseball can be a weird game!

It helps that A&M’s best player and top 3 draft pick this year went down with a broken ankle in the 1st inning yesterday

The further you go in baseball the more pitching matters. You got solid starters and deep staff you can have a deep run. Because to make it this far every team has hitters.

That goes for college or pros.

Left this pitcher in about 4 people to many. Maybe the coach is done with the season? If the Ducks lose it is on the coaches, was obvious the kid was done but the just left him in.

Absolutely painful to watch. How do you leave him in like that?

I have no idea why they let that guy stay in. Are they not deep in the bullpen?

The dude was in his own head about 2 walks in.

When you are done you are done. There was absolutely nothing the kid could do but keep throwing the best he could. The coach is who needs to make the call seven when a pitcher thinks he has one more strike in him.
Now you see a grand slam.

Yep pretty sad. Do they not have a bullpen? Just weird.

I pitched in high school. When you don’t have it, you don’t have it and the strike zone seems smaller and smaller. He should’ve gone to the bullpen after the 2nd walk. Once you’re mentally fucked it’s game over on the mound.

    Just awful coaching there.
