Hold up they played their best game of the season but were down 15 and had to take it to overtime AND they were outshot and outrebounded? That's not a great game besides the win lol

they played the #11 team on the road who was 16-1 at home with their only home loss being by 3 points. It was an accomplishment even if it wasn't very artful

as was heavily rumored the Ducks lost a verbal commit yesterday in QB Jonas Williams to USC. However, it's also been heavily rumored that part of the reason this flip was happening (maybe the reason), is Oregon's pursuit of Tennessee QB Jared Curtis who sits in the top 10 overall recruits of every recruiting service. He's 6'4 225, very athletic & has as much arm talent as anyone his age. Today Curtis stated he's down to just Oregon and Georgia for his recruitment

yeah, I was looking at the Forbes list

hard to believe this guys in a multi-millionaire:

    reading thru that Forbes list

I really started wondering about what the agents earn. NFL agents are capped at 3% of a contract's value. NBA agents are capped at 4%. So, if an NBA player signs a 300M contract the agent gets 12M. But there is no cap on what percentage an agent gets for endorsements

I wonder what Shohei Ohtani's agent makes

Class of 2026 kids are starting to schedule Official Visits with schools. Oregon has been said to be among the leaders for Jackson Cantwell who is a 6'8 300 lb OT from Missouri rated among the very top 5*s by every recruiting service. Both of his parents were Olympians and he hopes to follow in their footsteps throwing the Discus &/or Shot Put as well as playing a little football. He also maintains a 4.0 GPA. He's set an OV date to Eugene over the June 20th weekend.

Lanning has shown what the power of the Duck brand can do. Altman is a very good coach but it's time to see what someone else can do with the marketing juggernaut that Oregon has become. I look at Altman as Duck basketball's version of Bellotti. He's done a great job of guiding the program to a place where others can take it to a higher level.

    ok

but....I don't see a Chip on the horizon. There could be a lot of Helfich's, Taggart', and Mario's thoughs

This is my take as well. Sure, if you can go get a definite improvement at coach, go for it.

Same as I felt with Stotts/Blazers. If you are bringing in somebody you know will be better, then absolutely.

But moving off of somebody like Altman to take a chance isn't worth it in my opinion.

Not comparing these two in quality or style as coaches.

Just comparing the situations where some are feeling like this guy has been pretty successful but it appears "can't take you much further, so you should just get rid of him". This isn't a course of action I would take.
