I remember hearing about Freddy Jones when I was in middle school and he was a sophomore or junior. Saw him in person and you could tell he was several tiers beyond anyone else on the court. Our team managed to pull out the win in their gym at Barlow. It was one of the most exciting games I have ever seen in person to this day.
O was money from downtown. Guy could shoot from distance!!! Such a nice guy as well......even though he went to Benson!!
The CC crew! My boys Tony Erickson, Mitch Naylor and Luke Stowell were on those teams. They were tuff!!!!!
Funny thing is, or not so funny, all those great Wilson players, Doleac and the CC boys , Freddie Jones and the list goes on......all should have been with us at Grant or Jeff. Sucks they all went out elsewhere to get their run on. Bro, mid 80s-mid 90s.....the battles on the courts of NE Portland were absolutely epic!
Diallo Lewis, Antoine Stoudamire, the Tarver boys......the list goes on and on. All should have been playing ball in the hood, but were BOUGHT......errrrr......BROUGHT out to the westside.
