My goodness, you guys seem to be looking for a reason to use the word.

I shared some information with you all about drug abuse. This information is based on a study done at Serenity Lane with a population 80+ people in treatment at the time
36 people were in treatment for alcohol abuse. 34 of the 36 were of the Intuitive character type.
27 people were in treatment for MJ abuse. These 27 people could could not be associated with a specific character type so this says that everyone could have a problem.
The rest of the population were in treatment for other drugs being abused and they could not be associated with a character type.

I don't really think ignorant is an appropriate word to use in this discussion but assholes will forge on.

Marijuana isn't addicting in the least. But people can develop a dependence on it. If you like to smoke dope, you will when it's offered or you have it (why not!). If you don't or want to quit, it's trivial to give up, cold turkey. No DTs, shakes, withdrawal symptoms of any kind.

I suspect anyone that is admitted to a rehab center is either forced to by their parents, by the courts, or choose to do so because they'd be away from the temptation of using it.

According to state and national statistics, between 60 percent and 70 percent of individuals enrolled in substance abuse 'treatment' for cannabis are referred there by the criminal justice system.

By contrast, fewer than 15 percent of marijuana treatment admissions are voluntary.

As I recall, most of the MJ abusers were in there (the specific place and time) because their employer was trying to salvage them. I don't think minors go there, but still, some were in there because of family pressure, No one goes there by court order
because it cost to much. Most of the alcohol abusers are there because the want the help, although it probably is family and or the employer pushing them to the starting line.

I don't doubt your stats Denny. But then they don't apply at all to the treatment center I am speaking of here.
They have a pretty successful program but it costs a ton of money. It is usually the insurance a patient has that will get them in there and often pushed by the employer.
Oregon isn't going to spring for the bucks to send people to this place from the Criminal Justice system. (I don't think, unless a big change has occurred)

Your treatment center has a sample size of 27 people. Hardly credible...

Especially if it's an extremely expensive place. Really skews the stats

Please tell us what influence the cost of the treatment center has on the character type of the patients? I would say zero influence but perhaps you know something relevant.

Well it is what it is, 36 being treated for alcohol, 27 for MJ and perhaps that many again for other drugs. The identifiable similarity of the alcohol abusers was a stark difference from the other two groups. I kinda doubt 500 or 5000 would change the pattern.

If you are busted for DUI and forced to go to rehab, you go to the cheapest one you can find, not the most expensive.

    Pretty obvious.

    "I'm never at zero"

What a great contrast for this discussion. Granted letterman doesn't state a stance, but I'm sure isn't 100% opposed, however he is very much removed from smoking marijuana(30 years). It makes for a really funny interview!

Yep, most go to the state run programs. But that has nothing to do with the character type of the person. Some how I expect you know this.
