Agreed. If the PAC were sticking together as a a power 5 conference there is no way Smith would be leaving. As long as the Beavs could pay comparable salary.
Where is the loyalty former Beaver coach….where is the loyalty. He had a chance to go down with the ship, but said, “I’m out FAMS!” Wow, how do you hire a coach and get recruits when you don’t even know where and who you’re playing against. Selling the fact you will play on national TV against tams like UCLA/USC/Oregon is no longer there to draw talent. WOW!
Wishing the Beavs the best. Hope they just settle on whatever conference Boise State and Fresno State or Hawaii is in for football.
FAMS! That’s your BEST option! All this is a mess. Had WSU and OSU been attractive to other conference they would have already been invited and they would have most DEFINITELY accepted. Coach saw what was coming and did just that. Sad for the program. Just really hope they land on their hooves….or feet….or whatever Beavs have.
That would certainly have a cyclical feel to it. Riley was coach during the gang rape. MSU coach was fired for hitting on that same woman. Smith takes MSU job. Riley returns to OSU.
Smith doing a lot of raiding....probably not a big deal as the new HC would likely want his own guys anyway Beaver fans seem to want Trent Bray to step up to HC. I'm wondering, if he was interested in staying, why wasn't he named the coach for the bowl game?
I've always rooted for the Ducks over the Beavs, but mostly I'm a fan of all sports teams from our state being good. I think both Oregon and OSU being good helps both schools. I have HATED what has happened these past few months. OSU deserves so much better than this.
