Sabonis is a natural basketball player. He's not a complete zero athletically and makes up for his shortcomings with his super high IQ and feel for the game. He's going to make an immediate impact. Vonleh you have to teach the game to. His defense is solid but he's a complete zero offensively right now. Before Harkless moved into the lineup this team was playing 4-on-5. I'm annoyed that OKC landed Sabas.
If you would have started Sabas this year with the Blazers my guess is we would say he is a complete zero on offense and he can't defend. Which would have been inaccurate, but we still would have said it. I think you are embellishing about Vonleh's offense. To say he has zero offense is also inaccurate.
I disagree. It's a confidence issue. Vonleh has offensive skills. He put up good numbers in the summer league. He has a shooting stroke. You can just tell that he's unsure of himself when he pays. He looks like a 19 year old kid.
