Am I just reading it wrong? That is possible. I looked this up a couple weeks ago when i saw a sign that said "Boise State to the Rose Bowl" and wanted to see how mid-majors get in there. If OSU wins out, they should be in the top 16... there would really be no excuse not to put them there... they lose to Penn State and Utah... two top 10 teams and have win vs. USC and if they win out will have wins over Cal, Arizona and Oregon.... not bad.
Did anyone watch the Cal/Oregon game? Cal is terrible, OSU should rollllllll them over. OSU needs to watch out for their road games UCLA and UA since they don't play as well away from the friendly confines of Corvallis, Oregon.
Boise State could get an automatic BCS bid, that doesn't mean they go to the rose bowl that just means they would be one of the 10 BCS teams. If OSU wins out they go to the Rose Bowl; it doesn't matter if they are ranked 143rd.
...Arizona stomped Cal in the desert and to me, that is the hardest game on the schedule [we have played well against Cal over the years and play them at Reser, the same stadium the Beavers upset USC in and traditionally play really well in to finish the season(s)]
Yes, I think you are. "The champions of the ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-10, and Southeastern conferences will have automatic berths in one of the participating bowls." Pac-10 champion goes to the Rose Bowl. Boise State COULD end up in the Rose Bowl...if USC won the Pac-10 and got into he national championship game. Then the Rose Bowl gets to pick an at large. They COULD take a Pac-10 team or an at large team like BSU. It's their choice. (last year, the Rose Bowl picked Big 10 2nd place Illinois over an undefeated Hawaii team though...Pac-10 LOVES their traditional Pac10/Big10 match ups.) But if OSU wins the Pac-10...they're in the Rose Bowl, no questions asked. As Draco's Evil Sidekick says...doesn't matter if they're 143rd ranked. For BSU...Fiesta Bowl or Sugar Bowl are much more likely than the Rose Bowl.
