I've heard Bill Simmons mention a couple of times in his podcast that he thinks it's destiny for Oden to end up on the Timberpups roster with all of those other misfit toys. Just think about how many top 7 picks with up and down pasts he'd have if he really did a Love for Oden swap? Webster, Darko, Beasley, etc. I have to admit there would be a certain amount of cosmic symmetry to that scenario.
FWIW, Love has a very good defensive rebound rate, so it's not like he's just padding his rebound total off of his own misses. I agree that he's possibly padding his stats a bit because of his tendency to get capped under the rim but he also draws a shit load of foul shots which sort of even things out.
Depending on what it took to get him, I'd love to have him on our team. I just don't think it would happen.

No, not at all. You need big men, but more than one. And you need them to be able to score in the low post.
Yeah i know you need them. But in crunch time very few of them can be counted on to score in the post anymore. Howard is considered one of the top 3 players in the league (And i agree that he is) but down the stretch against Utah he was worthless. They don't go to him for a reason. "Got to make your free throws"
