Fucking Gonzaga just killed the value of my 4th ticket to next Thursday at the RG. Hopefully UW gets placed in Portland, so I can at least break even. Last time the NCAAs were in PDX, I made a killing with both UW and Gonzaga placed in this pod.
You'll probably still get that money if St. Mary's gets that pod. I think Gonzaga's resume' is worth a seed in that pod, this loss withstanding. West coast fans travel well for the tourney if its on the west coast.
I lost my ass on two extra tickets in Spokane two years ago. Weird thing was, Gonzaga ended up a 6-seed that year, yet had to play in San Jose, yet Vandy is likely going to get to play in Nashville?
faried with another 20/12 in win, looking like a supercharged version of noah. that one will always hurt more than most because it was such a no-brainer pick at the time.
Well, when you don't have a GM, what do you expect? Blame Paul Allen for this bullshit. It's all his fault.
I blame Chad Buchanan, the head scout, for blowing this pick. It was painfully obvious then and even more so now. There isn't one good reason why you take a combo guard over a rebounding machine like Faried.
It was never Faried for Smith, so comparing the two isn't the point It's more Felton for Faried/Miller with Nolan as a throw-in and then the other stuff with Hamilton/Rudy/etc I think Nate got the players he wanted is the most likely scenario here, not just Chad shuffling the roster Chad is an assistant GM acting as the GM. I'm guessing he has little say in what happens. No doubt the Blazers got hosed, though
Nate wanted Taurean Green. Nate wanted shooters so they got Babbitt and Diebler. Nate works with Coach K every summer so they passed Faried for K's Nolan Smith. Half of the recent bad picks came from McMillan.
It's not Nate's job to scout players and talent. Letting Nate influence who they pick means the management is at fault.
