His talent level is through the roof. Coming out of college scouts were saying he's just as good as Durant. But, his $million talent is operated with a ¢2 brain.

I hope he doesn't turn out JR Rider-crazy.

That tattoo is so lame marijuana cannot even be blamed. I would check myself into rehab too if it was mine.

And the one Bayless rocks is just as bad.

I'm not into social commentaries, but you can't help but notice a few things. The pressure and scrutiny these kids deal with is overwhelming. Sure, Patrick Ewing had pressure when he was selected #1 in 1985. But that was before Sportscenter played 12 times/day, and before there was internet message boards, and before the media chased these guys everywhere they go. Sure, we all heard about Michael Ray Richardson's drug problem in he 1980's, but the the intimate details of his personal life weren't readily available with the click of a mouse.

I thought about this last year watching Oden - he looked psychologically beaten at times. Not only did critics question his talent - his heart/desire, intelligence, durability were also picked at. Then when he hurt his knee it got worse as some thought he wasn't really hurt, or that he was milking the injury because his heart wasn't into it (and that he really didn't want to be out there) Nothing these guys go through in high school or one year in college can prepare them for this.

I always root for a guy like Beasley, but why does it feel like the deck is stacked against him? Sure, Miami will forgive him if he comes in and goes 20/10 or even 18/8 next year. If he struggles, fans/media will question if he's using drugs or if he's just not mentally tough enough. He's got to surround himself with the right people and keep a low profile, but that's easier said than done when you're just about to turn 21 years old with millions of $$$. Not many before him have gone through something like this and turned it all around.

Michael Ray Richardson was kicked out of the NBA, click of the mouse or otherwise. That's severe, isn't it?

Oden does ESPN commericials, he posts on his own blog, and he performs with Justin Timberlake at the ESPYs. It isn't like he was backing away from the limelight. While I see a great future for him, he was holding the spotlight on himself the past few years, wasn't he?

I'll root for Beasley as a human, but knowing he's made more money already in this rookie contract than I will make in my entire life, and knowing that he is apparently "Supercool Beas", makes it dang tough to care about the guy in terms of basketball.

Maybe coming to a small market would do a lot for Beasley.

He's an immature 20 y/o and South Beach is probably the worst place for him.

The guy has a ton of talent. When/If he ever gets his head on straight he could be a serious player.

    Bayless for Beasley, anyone?

Why on earth would anybody ever tattoo their name on them? I'd feel like that guy who forgets to take his name tag off after the erectile dysfunction conference, and everybody is smirking at you because your first name is Lance, and I suppose it is a little ironic having that right next to the conference logo, but come on, we're all adults here.

I mean, other than that guy in Memento. I could see doing it if I were that guy.

It's called stupid - and pardon me for not "rooting" for the guy. He's trying his best to throw away an opportunity the rest of us can only dream of. Sounds like a rough road to hoe.

Tons of people engage in asphyxiation while masturbating. Many are found dead hours later with a porn magazine in one hand and their penis in the other. How awkward is that for the person finding him. Do you try to clean it up a little so it's not so humiliating for all people involved, or do you just leave it alone so you aren't accused of murder or something? Man, that's a tough call.

    Hmmm. I know I had a point.

It's against the law, and it violates the ridiculously lucrative contract he signed.
